Early morning TGIF
Can't sleep ... for some reason, I'm really wired. I take Juliette to the vet today. I bought a flea comb and tried to comb here whenever she was up by me ... she is crawling with fleas. I got a few out of her and drowned them in dish soap and warm water. But she wouldn't stay up here long for me to comb her. She usually likes to be brushed, but she didn't like the fl;ea comb out at all.
Had a hectic day ... had to go to the bank, then a few things at Walmart (a flea bomb, which I'll set off after I take Miss Itchy Juliette to the vet); then I had to go to the dentist ... I have another fractured tooth, so next week I'll go through the prep for another crown (that'll be the third one this year). Gassed up the car, stopped off at Walgreens for iron (I've been out of mine for awhile ... not the kind I usually take, but it's ok); came home, had dinner and watched "Bridesmaids," which I got for Christmas from my brother Gary.
I got engrossed in a book: Annette Vallon, a novel about the French revolution ... probably why I can't get to sleep. That, and worrying about Juliette and her fleas. The poor baby is just crawling with them.
Oh well, what are you doing? Hope you don't have fleas

Eileen and Miss Itchy Juliette
Eileen...here I am not sleeping either. I was sleeping and a friend called at 2:45AM and needed to talk. We talked until 4:00AM... so here I am!! Now she is going to bed and I am sitting here....DUH!! Thanks for giving me the itching.....now I am scratching everywhere!! Poor Miss Juliette!! I hope she can be relieved of her horrible flea problem. Sounds miserable!!
I have been feeling really sad about my friend Pam. I miss her so much. I see her but it isn't the same. I hope she can come out of this and be herself again!!

My granddaughter and her boyfriend Tyler will be here at 9AM as they head out to Oregon. I am taking them out to breakfast. Who knows when I will be able to see my Amanda again. Oregon is quite a drive from Minnesota. Please pray that they have safe travels. They are driving her car out there so she has a way to get around and find a job. I sure will be missing her!!

Well one highlight of my day.....the VIKINGS play tonight...they play the Chargers!! It is only pre-season, but I love the game anyway!! I am a die-hard VIKINGS Fan. I love them even if they don't win.

I am going to go back to bed and hope I can get a little more sleep. I will try to read for a little while.

Wishing you all a beautiful day. Prayers for those in need.
Love

Juliette went to the vet and he said he couldn't find fleas on her. I combed her last night, and they were jumping off the comb. I had them in the water, dead this morning. But anyway, he gave me some stuff to spray around the house ... rather than fogging the house. Much better idea. He is such a nice man. That stuff would have cost me $19. He gave me one of the applications of the flea repellant, too. I have to bake something and bring it by ... something easy that I won't have to stand up too long for. I swear this guy is a saint.
Eileen, here is another thing you can try...my aunt used to put some water in a dish with dish soap in it under a night light near the floor...the fleas would jump at the light and fall into the soapy water and drown...i did it and it worked!! I also made up a piece of cardboard with ducktape or packing tape (sticky side out) and stuck it under the light and they got stuck on it also!! Kind of a double trick on them...if the tape didn't get them stuck the soapy water got them!!! LOL

Eileen,
I have the one cat that is not only allergic to fleas, but she is mentally retarded and partially blind so she cannot groom herself. So, every night, I run a tub of warm soapy water and give her a nice little bath. The other cats come in and sit on the side of the tub or on the sink and watch her get the bath. About once or twice a month, I bathe the others. I use the flea comb every time one of my cats gets in my lap or near me. When I first started combing them, They did not like it one bit, but they finally got use to it. My friend has carpet and she keeps the fleas out by simply sprinkling salt around.
For the last few days, I have been making receiving blankets, waterproof diapers, and soaker pads for my friend's soon to be born twin boys; well they are her grandsons. I had a lot of blanket material left over, so I used it to make burp cloths and bibs. I have made john deer tractor diapers and tons of camoflage sleepers.
My back has been killing me and tonight, I was at my sewing machine and kept thinking, why is my back killing me. GEEZE. Well, I hope you guys all have a good night
Hope your back feels better. My body was miserable yesterday after running for two days, and with only one day off this week (well, two, but the second one is Sunday). Hope you feel better.
Well, this is my third attempt at this reply. I keep losing it and having to start over. Hopefully, I won't lose this one.
Eileen, I hope you can get some help for Miss Juliette. When I was married, we had a dog, Carla, and she had fleas. My husband was extremely allergic to the bites. It was another sign that my marriage was crumbling.
Connie, my niece lives three hours from me, and I have yet to go visit her. I intend to get there when my finances are not the mess they are now. She lives in the D.C. metro area, and hotels aren't cheap, but I love the sightseeing.
I am having a procedure on my back today, called a rhizotomy. I had one last year, and it worked for a year on a specific pain I was having. I'm hoping this one lasts longer. They can work for six months to two years before the nerves grow back.
I hope everyone has a blessed day.
Hugs,
Trish
