Happy Tuesday

Hi my OFF family:

Just relaxing a little bit before going to bed. I have an early-morning appointment for a rhizotomy. First time I'm doing this; was supposed to have this a couple weeks ago, but woke up with a really bad, vomit-inducing migraine, so I had to cancel.

Kinda pissed at one of the sports guys; told me not to change anything in any of their stories. So what am I there for? Not happy with him. He can be really nice sometimes, then other times he can be a real jerk. Today he was a class A jerk and I wasn't in the mood ... I was tired, in a lot of pain and having trouble concentrating. Didn't need his crap.

Well, my appointment is 6:30 a.m. and I should go to bed and get a couple of hours of sleep. Have a good day.

A very early greeting from Owosso today!  I'm  in a not sleep mode lately.
Eileen  hope your procedure goes well and brings you pain relief,
I just got rid of one batch of kitties and have another!   these babies are farol and very young    I think they are going to a kitty shelter as I am so busy this week and gone all weekend and just plain have no  time to bottle feed 4 little hissy bundles  fur.
I have a job interview to marrow   I don't want the job But if offered would be able and willing to do it and it is good pay.    Have a good  day everyone!

Good mornin' ya'll.
Well, the doctor has pretty much confirmed these headaches I've been having are migraines!! Start meds today. Still need a CT scan of my head, to rule out any other problem. I have so many things I want to do, (new computer-wise, crochet-wise, organization-wise). But I have other projects as well. If I don't get to them, Ray will do the laundry but leaves the folding to me, he will load and run the dishwasher, but leaves the putting away to me. So, WHERE are my hours going every day!!
My relatives would shudder at the size of my folder marked 'genealogy stuff to be entered into my data base'! I ask them to send me updated information (who has been hatched, matched and snatched as my Gramma would say), and recent pictures. But then I just stick them in a folder. My bad!
Got a few errands to run, then do some of the stuff that needs doing!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

So Sorry about the migraines. I'm also on a daily medicine to prevent them for the last 10 years and have only been taken to the hospital twice for migraines. Keep a journal of foods, some can be triggers for migraines. My triggers are, peanut butter, chocolate, warm yeast breads or rolls, avocado, stress and sinus infections. Hormones also play a big role, but that has gotten better with menopause. I still eat peanut butter and avocado just not in the same day and not all the time. If they haven't given you a list of triggers ask or you can find them on the internet. If you need any help let me know I have a lot of suggestions for getting thru a migraines.

Hugs, Debbie

Thanks Debbie. My son and DIL both get migraines, too. She has figured out her triggers. I am keeping a journal. I'll be sure to ask you if I have questions. My DIL has only been haveing them for about 6 months, so she is learning, too.
My son's case is a little trickier. He also has PTSD and a lipoma in his brain, so Lord only knows what sets his off!

Grammylew, someone thought you had surgery in MX.  Was it you?  I can't ask in pm as your profile is set to private.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Yep! I got a lapband by Dr. Ortiz in 2007. Cost $8500 that my daughter paid for. I lost 125 pounds in two years. I only needed three fills in my first three months of being banded. I was in heaven! And a size 12. In 2009, went in to have my gallbladder removed. They found cancer. I had a liver resection. Went home after a couple of weeks. Back in hosp with very bad infection in there. They had to place an NG tube. They got it through my stoma without an unfill, but nothing came up. They had to unfill me, relief. I had chemo and radiation, and I spent the next two years trying to get my perfect fill back. Must have done AT LEAST a dozen /fills/unfills. Finally, wound up with a leak.
I went back to Dr. Ortiz. Choice of repair band or plication or sleeve. I was tired of trying to get fills right. Plication...they said I would have to go back to be tightened up. Sleeve, done and should be done, and my research said about same loss results as RNY. Cost another $6500. I paid this time. Welllllll, sleeve surgery went well. Home and followed all instructions had NO restriction. They told me to give it a couple more months. Still nothing! Went back to be tightened. Still nothing. Was not willing to put another $12,000 in my gut for a duodinal switch, my only other choice!
I am constantly fighting regain. Will power never worked for me before, and it isn't working now. I know many are happy as can be with their sleeve. I'm not one of them
So, that's my story. I'm sure WAY more info than you wanted. .

NOPE!  That is excatly the info I wanted.

I am having to have my band out 9/4.  The surgeon wanted to try just moving the port
and putting me on more acid reflux meds.  I don't want to have this surgery just to
have another when this didn't  work.

I mentioned here that my insurance went to a once in lifetime WLS policy while I was
tring to get revision aproval.  I stated I may have to get the sleeve in Mexico.  You where mentioned.  I WANTED to hear the whole story.  So, you now have a sleeve as you still
show the lap band?

Boy what a story you have to tell too.  If you had it all to do over, what would you have
done?

Thank You for sharing with me.

Good morning! Benny and I are traveling back to hilltop today. Long drive. Thank God for DVDs in the backseat! Not sure if the prozac has had much time to kick in yet. Guess we'll find out. I'll be glad to have a computer again. Love you all!

Good Morning Eileen, Jo, Carolyn, and Vicky and all to follow:
Eileen, I hope the rhizotomy works well for you.  I'm beginning to feel relief from mine.  I hope it lasts as long, if not longer as the last one.

Jo, I hope your job interview goes well.  I'm hoping to return to Michigan in the Fall.

Carolyn, I hope you get some relief from the migraines, and that the CT scan shows nothing serious.

Vicky, I wish they had DVD players in minivans back when our kids were little.  My daughter has an Odyssey with a player, and the kids are so good when it's on for the long trip to Lansing from Perry.

I overslept and missed an appointment with a nurse about bloodwork I'm supposed to get done this morning.  So, I'm heading to the lab when I finish this post.  I better get running.

I'm heading to my volunteer work this afternoon.

Hugs,
Trish
