T.G.I.F. Wassup?
Hi Trish and my OFF family:
My body's hurting me today ... I think we are getting some storms. Must be humid. If you didn't see on Facebook, I got Catch of the Month and Headline of the Month at work (although I don't know which headline won ... I submitted several headlines). I know the catch of the month was noticing a graphic had already run earlier in the week. That got me a $50 Visa giftcard. That will come in handy.
They are powerwashing the patios and balconies today ... I got home last night and saw a notice on my door they were going to do that and had to go out and move my car away from the building, then limp back. Pain in the ... well, knees, etc. They didn't get over to my building until noon, but I still wouldn't have gotten ready to move.
Anyway, back to work tonight. Not much else going on. Trish, do you use green tea or black tea? Green tea has less caffeine and has lots of good things in it. I have gotten hooked on green tea lately. I'm not much of a tea drinker other than herbal ones, but I do like the iced green tea.
I'm not much a prayer person but I respect everyone's beliefs. If you want to put my brother on that, I'd appreciate it. I believe everyone helps themselves, and right now, he's not helping himself. He has given up. He's depressed and won't do anything to help himself, not even get Medicaid for insurance or file for disability or anything. He's been unemployed for nearly three years and hasn't been able to get a job. I'm very worried about him. He won't take any of my suggestions to make money, such as helping seniors to their appointments or shopping for them or walking dogs or whatever. He's given up. I can't help him anymore. He has to help himself. He needs antidepressants for one thing. And he needs friends. He doesn't have many.
Well, enough from me. I need to get off the computer and get ready for work soon. Have a good day.

Hi Eileen,
Yes, I love iced green tea also. I make it with Celestial Seasonings Honey Lemon Ginseng and Splenda to taste. I can drink that a gallon a day. It does not have too much caffeine at all. What happened yesterday is that while I normally make my regular iced tea with half decaf and half regular tea bags, I goofed and made a pitcher with ALL regular tea bags, and then also had the three cups of coffee, and the prednisone. Huge mistake.
When I was married, we went through a bankruptcy. After we broke up, we both had great credit and the only debt was our kids' student loans. Well, I took the divorce very hard, and gained 70 pounds, and used all my credit cards to travel to see my three kids, who had all moved away the same year. Made a huge mess, and filed bankruptcy again. Right now, I am down to paying off two credit cards with payment arrangements with a debt collector. I'm out of the bankruptcy because I couldn't keep up the payments. My credit sucks big time.
I appreciate that I can come here, and not be judged. It's such a blessing.
I'll definitely pray for your brother. He sounds like my Mom when I was growing up. She'd get so depressed they would have to do electroshock on her. She'd be hospitalized for months at a time.
The problem is, if his depression is a combination of brain chemistry and his career situation, he won't be motivated to do anything till his brain chemistry is fixed with meds. You have to be careful, because my Mom reached a point where she thought about suicide. Depression is serious stuff. My father-in-law attempted suicide when my husband and I were in high school, and then succeeded two years after we were married. If you think your brother needs an intervention, or needs to go to a crisis center, don't hesitate to get him to one. I worked in a psych hospital for almost four years part time. Meds can make a huge difference, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

I've asked him to ask his doc for antidepressants. He said he'd think about it when he goes for his yearly checkup this month. I don't think he'd off himself, because he's at the point he won't do anything for himself at all. He just sits. He has a part-time job but it doesn't pay much, and the rest of the time he helps out my mom. She drives him crazy (I couldn't live with her ... I'd kill her first ... not really, but she would drive me crazy). Unfortunately, he's in the Chicago area and I'm here, so all I can do is talk to him on the phone or Skype. I know he needs help, but I can only suggest stuff. He has to do it himself.
