September Sunday Hello
Hello, everyone!
What a busy weekend it was here…we had Derek & Kathy’s two cats MeatBall & Ferdinand as houseguests for the weekend. Each time, they are so much more relaxed with LilyRose and Oreo but they still interact with a certain amount of one-up-manship…lol..
I spent a lot of time spent cooking tomatoes and peppers…from our garden and Derek’s. Mom’s old recipe of homemade chili sauce works every time...the house smelled so good all weekend…but all that work and I had only 3 quart jars and 3 pint jars of chili sauce.
Ferdinand is the true top cat and harasses poor LilyRose who usually hides upstairs in our bed. Oreo has dictated HIS Royalty and those two territories tend to overlap. MeatBall, small and mild, displays extreme skills in self-protection, rarely needed but the transformation from SuperFeline to CatZilla is engaged in a matter of seconds,
Just this evening, my computer desk chair arms have been tasted - black and white cat fur has been found at the scene. Then MeatBall re-adjusted the printer tray of my printer by chewing on it until it folded down flat, thus rendering it non-functional now.. Derek changed all my ink cartridges for me when he came over tonight to get his furries back.
My hot protein drink had been savoured whilst I dealt with fixing my printer tray. l have definitely witnessed BLACK fur left on the rim of the cup. That means that the ONLY innocent one (by a slight miracle) is our softly-red-headed catchild, Ferdie! I love my grand furries and my own two furbabies but wow, they keep us laughing!
Monday will be spent finishing the last two boxes of peppers and tomatoes…I now have 16 bags of tomatoes in the freezer for winter soup. I wanted to make peach-amaretto jam but suddenly the local peach season is almost over! Egad! Jams and jellies and sauces make great Christmas gifts especially for my friends who work all day or those who burn everything they touch.
It is also my plan to call my doctor’s office and ask for my mammo results…..he didn’t have the results yet last week and said to call this week because they SHOULD be in….after battling breast cancer TWICE, I just feel better hearing him say that there is no apparent issue. But then, as my radiologist says, you never really know for sure.
Kathy has been recalled by the Canadian Coast Guard as Head Chef again….she had always served on The Griffin, a Search & Rescue ship and Ice Breaker but this time, she will be on a different ship that is used for other tasks. She will be away for two week intervals instead of four weeks and so she and Derek will likely find that easier.
Well, I have some special orders for mandalas for some people who have asked for art therapy to relax/meditate, so I will work on one now before I try to sleep.
Have a safe and happy Monday and I send loving healing energy and prayers to all who have a need.
