Have a headache from hell, trying to get these idiots that work in the dr's office to send me the out of  pocket info I need for my tenants recertification before the end of this week!!!! Its like pulling teeth!!!!! GRRR Waiting on a call back from my boss to talk to her about that tenant and her motor mouth about me and Rick. Need to take a drive to the bank to cash the petty cash checks and do some shopping for the Chili cook off party on the 6th. My heart isn't in it right now...just worried yet on my test results and all this stress I am under here.

Hello to all the OFF family!

Carla hope you feel better soon! I hated being in the hospital in a different state when I had my RnY a few weeks back. There's nothing like being at home. I believe it helps you heal. Hope your headache goes away.

Trish, have a great day, but don't do any heaving lifting!

Vicki, so happy to know Butch is there with you!

I'm so amazed at how well all you ladies and gents keep the weight off. You are all great mentors for me. I had a munchie day yesterday. Don't want to do that very often. It was all healthy stuff and I was under 1000 calories but it seems 800-850 calories works best for me. I tried a recipe for baked kale chips...it was ok but I don't think I'll make again. Here is the recipe if your interested! It had great reviews, I'm just not a big kale person.

Have a great day,

Big hugs,

Debbie

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch kale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt

Directions

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a non insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. With a knife or kitchen shears carefully remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces. Wash and thoroughly dry kale with a salad spinner. Drizzle kale with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoning salt.
  3. Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt, 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. I used garlic salt for half and seasoned salt for the other half
  5. I only used 1 - 1 1/2 tsp of olive oil

Good morning ladies!  I'm not doing much today either - just trying to recover from the weekend!  I had a great weekend with my daughter - I haven't been out of the house much for the past year, so to get out 2 days in a row was awesome!  I'm tired, but it's a good tired.  I think knowing my surgery is only a week away has releived some of the stress/anxiety that I've had over the past few months.

My daughter and 19 month grandson moved out of our home last weekend.  We moved to Wichita Falls from Amarillo, TX last summer - thinking it was only going to be my husband and me - and surprise!  We bought a MUC H smaller OLDER house with 3 bedrooms but not a lot of storage space - so needless to say it was a bit cozy.  My husband moved bedroom furniture around for me this weekend and I'm trying to reshuffle storage items.  I'm taking it slow but making progress.  As much as I loved having them here - I love having my own space back!

I'm on day 7 of pre-op diet and surprised at how well Ive done.  I did have trouble getting in my shakes & small meals since I was on the run this weekend - I think I did OK thought.  I think I actually lost 5 pounds - but will know tomorrow for sure - I have my last pre-op with my surgeon before the big day.

Thanks again to this group for being here!  I look forward to checking in with you guys everyday.

Chris

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

Carla, sorry you are still in the hospital and not feeling well. Wish I could help you. But I am going into the hospital myself at the end of the month for my knee replacement.

Not much happening here. It's my Friday and I'm dragging. I'm on my second cup of coffee and pretty soon have to get into the shower and have lunch and get ready for work. Ready to have two days off ... I felt like I didn't have any days off last week. I don't think I'm doing anything this week other than vegging.

I was happy my Bears won but my White Sox are hanging on by a thread ... ha! that would be a good headline. I'm having fun with the Colts' quarterback ... his name is Luck ... "Tough Luck for Colts" was my headline for today's paper. I think it's going to get old, though.

Anyway, have a good day. Juliette and I are enjoying the pleasant fall weather ... tomorrow it heats up again.

Just popped in to read up on all lives!  Busy people you all are.

Chris I so know how you feel.  My oldest DD moved in with DH when first married to save money to get a house.  Moved out than came back when she sold the house and was having one built.  The second DD moved in
with her DH and my grandson when they sold their house and was looking for another.  Than the youngest was moving in and out while deciding what to be when she grew up.

I loved having each and everyone BUT It is so nice to have just me and DH.

Night everybody!
