I had my phone interview with Child Protective Services this morning. The case worker was very nice. I appreciate the fact that they want to make sure Benny is being cared for, but it made me a little nervous anyway. He told me that Benny's father has missed two meetings with him and has refused to return his phone calls. No surprise there. Anyway, I guess I "passed" because he said he was going to close the case file now.
The interview really brought home the fact to Butch and I that we are doing the right thing moving here to take care of Benny. As hard as it sometimes has been for me personally, I have to keep my eye on the bigger goal--Benny's welfare must come first. I have a precious baby to nuture and protect. He sure can't count on his father for anything, and we all know Chris isn't able to do it all on her own. My resolve has been strengthened this morning for sure.
Plus the prozac "haze" doesn't hurt! LOL!
Nothing on my agenda today except a little laundry and playing with Benny and figuring out what to cook for dinner. I hope it rains all weekend. The cooler temps are very welcome!
Love you all!
Thanks for your sweet friendship and support! Love you too!
Friday for me is another work day. Plus, it's raining and I've had a headache since last night. It went away when I went to sleep and came back when I got up. It was hard to get through last night with all the late stories (football, baseball, soccer, etc.) and tonight is going to be just as tough because I'll have to help with sports and it's high school football night. It's raining but they don't cancel high school football unless there's lightning ... and there's no thunderstorms predicted, just rain.
My brother Gary found out that his new grandchild will be a boy and should come into the world at the end of January. Another boy to our family. Seems we produce only boys. Oh well, that's great, as long as he's healthy.
Well, that's all that's going on now. Have a good day.
I'm trying a variation on your salsa chicken today. I had some nice fresh pork chops, so I'm using those, along with the taco seasoning, salsa and cream of chicken soup. Oh, and I added some sliced onion. We like onion. The crock pot I have here at the lake house is ancient. I hope it cooks! I need to bring my nice big crockpot from the house, I guess. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Hello!!
Well I got Steve's Birthday cake made, dinner is marinating (Chicken Fajitas). I'm sitting down eating an apple with Laughing Cow light creamy swiss . Have to go pick up Krissy from school soon. Michael will be home from college shortly, he has to work at 3. Not sure how long he'll keep coming home for weekends to work, but I love it. Busy weekend. Krissy has home coming dance and I have all of Steve's family coming over for dinner tomorrow night.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Big Hugs,
Debbie
