Good Morning to MY OFF friends,

I don't post near as often as I once did, but check on you guys to see how everyone is doing and it is always good when I see one of the oldtimers post here. . . after all I am someone who came here to see what life was long after the "honeymoon period" was over.

I am busy and I can tell fall is near, because I am really getting into perfecting new recipes, making some old ones and enjoying more outdoor things, like pruning plants, walks and such, am away from the computer more and these are good things, as they have me in motion.

Still in pain, but some of my bloodwork came back, not the one I am waiting on, but the cholestrol is down 111 points to a number I've never had before, total 177, that is great! Now I think I am going to ask the doctor to lower the dosage as he put me on the higher one to start because he said it gives the big bang for the buck and I really feel that is part of the issue with the pain. . . waiting on my WLS bloodwork to see how the numbers are with that.

Update: WLS bloodwork is in and other than creatine and B12, everything appears in normal range, B12 has always been high, so I will now reduce taking sublingual to 2x a week and see what it does to next bloodwork, creatine is high I'm thinking because some days I get so busy at work, my water intake suffers. . . but no anemia, so that rules out the pains in my back, as well as the tiredness. . . think I am going to ask for them to run bloodwork for Epstein Barr, as I had that in the past and with a lot of what has gone on in the past few months, my stress levels are up and stress can cause a recurrence of that, as well as a Lyme test. . . just want to be sure. . . cause I just can't stand the aches, pains and tiredness I'm experiencing. Is this "old age" setting in? LOL

None of the plans I had for the weekend came through, other than seeing Tony, but that's ok, think I needed a weekend doing the things I did and not running all over the place.

Well gotta run, time to get ready for work. . . depending on the weather this evening, expecting bad weather, I will meet with my "een" friends (Arlene and Eileen) for dinner, otherwise home to relax. . .

Have a great day everyone! Prayers and good wishes for any dealing with the less pleasant aspects of living.

Good Morning Laureen and Family,
Laureen, I am so glad you posted the thread.  I, for one, miss when you don't post.  I am sorry you are still suffering from the pain.  Congrats on the cholesterol numbers going down.  That's awesome.  I hope you'll post regularly.  You're one of the people who got me to know about this forum.

Today, I am tired still from the weekend's walking.  I overslept, which puts me behind schedule.  I'll be heading to my AA meeting at 9:00, and then head to my church to view a DVD for a Bible study I missed last night.  I was so tired after my volunteer work last night, I forgot to go to Bible study.  Argh!.

This afternoon, I have volunteer work.  Hopefully, I'll have enough energy to go to the campaign office afterward to do some work.

Have a great day everyone.  Prayers and love to all in need.

Hugs,
Trish

Trish,

This morning I left the house, with my workbag, my bag that contains all the food I bring with me to eat on track and the garbage, which my roommate usually takes out, but he is suffering from a severe gout attack, so I took it out. . . got to the gas station and what did I forget. . .  my pocketbook. . .  so I had to go all the way back home and get it because with the winds they are saying we might be getting in time for evening rush, I wanted to be sure I had a full tank of gas in the car, one of the drawbacks of a smaller car is the fact that it moves about a lot when windy. . .  anyway, wound up being 15 minutes late for work.

Hope you got all the things in you planned for the day!

Good morning Laureen and Trish and all my OFF sistas!

Laureen, I second what Trish said.  I miss you and your posts too!

Trish, hope you start feeling better soon.  Geez, you've had a rough road this year.

Well, we are up early, getting ready for our trip back to Nacogdoches for a week.  I got quite a bit packed yesterday, but still have last minute stuff to throw together this morning.  I don't look forward to all the driving today.  I'm thankful that Benny is such a good traveller.  But I am looking forward to having lunch with our oldest girl today.  Miss her so much!

I won't have internet at the house in Nac again for a week, so I won't be posting much.  I can easily check my email and OFF and FB on my phone, but it's too hard to post more than a brief message using tha***** bitty keyboard.  Didn't want you all to worry when I drop off the board for several days.

We are going to a family reunion (Butch's side) on Saturday and I haven't seen most of these folks since I lost 100 lbs.  Have to admit I'm kinda looking forward to that!  Obsessing over what to wear!  I want to look SKINNY!!!  LOL!  I'll try to get my SIL to take my pic (she's the family photographer) and maybe I can post a new, updated photo.

Well, the morning is flying by.  I'd better get my butt moving.  Love you all!

Good morning all.

Laureen - Tom can't take any meds for cholesterol without experiencing pain.

I have three large bins of Winter clothes waiting for me to sort. Time to store Summer clothes and weed out things I am sick of wearing. Before WLS it was easier to sort clothes each season. The old stuff was always too small because my weight always went up, so new clothes were necessary. My weight is stable now but it seems senseless to toss everything and buy new. Compromise = for each new item, donate one old item.

Kisses

Nettie,

Can you describe the kind of pain he experiences on it?

I like your compromise and I've done a lot of the same thing, gave a lot of stuff to the Woman's halfway house and the rest to Big Brother and Sisters. . .  I remember 3 years ago when my closets were empty, now they are plenty full, drawers too. . .  love shopping for clothes now, whereas before it was necessity, but I've been good and not bought anything lately, trying to be economic, especially because I've had to help my daughter out the last few months and so finances are real tight right now. . . I need my weight to be stable and it has been for the past year, not that I love the place I'm at, but my NUT says, stable is good.

Hugs, Lil Sis

Lil Sis,

General all over pain and utterly weak. He tried a couple doses and brands then finally refused to take any.

One doctor said he doesn't believe the drug helps much for some people. Genetics come in to play and won't help lower the levels.

Since Tom was raised in an orphanage, we have no idea what he may have inherited.

Feel better

 Annette,
My son and daughter-in-law have the same rule about new clothes purchases.  Their last apartment was so tiny, they do the same, for each new item, give away an old item.  I am not ready to go through my closet and put away the summer stuff.  I wait till after Indian Summer, because I get too hot and then need to dig out something nice that is short sleeved.

I also have to try on my winter stuff again, because I am still losing weight.  When I do get around to the purge process, I will make a trip to the Salvation Army Thrift Store, and donate and shop.  Wednesday is half-price day.  I'll wait till October for that big trip, because I can shop for the grandchldren then too.

Great to see you posting again.  Don't be a stranger.

Hugs,
Trish

Laureen-

If doc put you on a statin drug chances are that is causing the muscle aches and pains.  I take CoEnzyme Q -10 daily and that keeps the aches and pains at bay.  Statin's apparently deplete the body of CoQ 10  Since taking it I have not had the horrible thigh aches and arm aches.

Thanks Cindi,

It's worth the try to see if it helps, because I am not a baby when it comes to pain, but these are chronic aches and pains and are robbing me of the ability to enjoy living like I'm used to, which I find funny, considering it was one of the reasons I choose to have WLS, as I felt my life was being robbed of the mobility and ability to enjoy living. . .

Is there one brand over another that is better?
