Sunday Morning in Pennsylvania
Good Morning Family,
I couldn't sleep this morning, so I woke up, and filled some containers with water, in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy. I am hoping I don't need it, but my philosophy is better safe than sorry.
This morning, I am heading to church to work in the nursery. I love babies. Then, I am going to a first birthday party for a little girl whose parents are friends of mine. I missed her baby shower because it was the same day as my move from upstairs to downstairs.
I'd appreciate prayer about a possible move to Michigan. Some details need to fall into place, but I am upen to doing it, if it is the Lord's will. I just know I miss my Munchkins terribly, and really hate how much they grow between visits, and I'm missing it.
This evening, I'm just hanging out with Utley, hopefully watching my football game, which I'm DVRing.
Hugs and prayers for all,
Trish

Morning Trish!! Hope you are going to be safe from that awful storm that is out there and causing all sorts of worries!!! If you want to move to Michigan...go for it!!!! Will keep you in my prayers and thoughts!!!
Its now 8:24 am here in Ohio and it is 42* overcast and WINDY so far. Yes there is a Wind Chill of 35* and I am cold!!!! We still haven't turned on the heaters but did move the furniture around so I don't have to sit by the windows now. And we also shut the heavy door to outside. ;-) Hate being all closed in but gotta do what we have to so the cold stays out.
Went to Bingo last night with one of our tenant friends. Did I win? Heck NO!!! LOL Pat did and he shared...bought me a sandwich, a few extra cards and more food when we left...told him I think I will date him again...lol he got a big smile on that remark!! Rick didn't want to go and glad he stayed home..another tenant called and said people were coming across the street to use our dumpsters!!! He went out and caught the kids!! They were about 8 & 10 years old pushing a chair with garbage on it to our dumpsters!! He told them they can't do that!! He made them take it all back home and said if he found them again doing this he would call the police!!! They took their trash and left fast!! How can the parents of these little kids make them do things like that??
Not doing much today just working on my hats I am making for Christmas gifts for my family. Right now I am doing the (ugly) U of M for my younger brothers family. Already did my older brothers in MSU colors and also one in Ohio colors. He is on my side for those teams!! LOL
Going to make some country ribs for supper tonight and maybe potato salad. Sounds good to me right now.
Getting nervous for my upcoming surgery thursday morning.
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
HUGS
Good Morning Trish and Judy and all those to come,
I am leaving Colorado tomorrow morning to go home. I cant wait, it is to cold here for me. Ive got a killer headache for three days now. I cant wait for this cycle to end!!!!! I think the stress of the funeral has caught up with me.
I am saying a prayer for all of you on the East Coast.I havent experienced a Hurricane even though I live in Florida but I am feeling for you guys. Living in Florida I do have Hurricane supplies in my house and I am prepared during hurricane season. I hope I do get home tomorrow. I know they have cancelled flights to the east coast.
I am done traveling for a bit. I am traveling within the state of Florida. I do have to go to see an endocrinologist at the university of Miami so a trip to Miami is in my future. My doctor is working on getting an appointment. The one in Tampa refused to see me!!!!! Go figure says he doesnt treat my condition!!!!! I hate Miami.....Driving there sucks!!!!!

Good morning Trish and Judy and all my OFF sistas!
Trish, I certainly understand your desire to be closer to your grandbabies. I will pray for your situation. I know how much you miss them. And really, what is holding you there in Penns right now? Not much. I hope the move will work out for you.
Judy, prayers going up for you next Thursday. It will be okay. Whatever it is, they have found it early. They found my husband's bladder cancer early--so early it was barely Stage I. He was treated for it and it has never recurred. So hold on to your faith and your hope. You can beat cancer. And if not, you can live with it a long time, too. Butch is still in treatment for his prostate cancer, but it doesn't slow him down one bit.
Well, yesterday Butch and I drove a million miles (seemed like) and we still didn't buy a refrigerator! We drove into San Antonio to go to the Sears Outlet store, but that was a joke. If those were "bargains", I'm a skinny model! So while we were in civilization, so to speak, we stopped and had lunch at Red Lobster. Yummmm--crab legs! Our favorite.
Then we drove back to New Braunfels and checked out Home Depot. Again, not much there. So we wound up back at Lowes (which I had already checked out last week) and tried to buy the little frig there that I liked, only they were out of stock! Today Chris and I are going to the Outlet Mall in San Marcos, and I will go to the Lowe's there and see if I can buy the same frig today. I just want a plain second frig to put in the laundry room. Nothing fancy. Just a place to hold all waters, cold drinks, beer, and extra milk for the baby, you know? Geez.
I think I have maybe mentioned the fact that I have cold feet before on here. Really. They're like ice cubes. I can never seem to get them warm. Well, I saw a pair of sheepskin house boots on-line at Land's End for (gulp!) $140. Seemed a bit pricey to me, yes? But I was thinking, maybe that will be my Christmas gift. But then I was looking on this great website I use called Bargain Outfitters.com. (Highly recommend them!) I found a nearly identical pair of real sheepskin boots for under $40! I ordered them. Oh, they are wonderful! The lining is real wool, not the acrylic stuff, and they are so warm! My feet are in heaven. I'm clomping around in them this morning and I'm sure I look pretty funny wearing boots with my nightgown, but I don't care. My feet are HAPPY!
We are still in negotiations with our potential buyers for our house in Nacogdoches. Oh, prayers requested please! Butch and I settled on a "rock bottom" price that we would/could take for our house. Now if the buyers will just come up to meet us there, we have a sale! They made a counter offer on Friday, but we told the Realtor we needed a while to think about it and would get back to him on Monday. Let THEM sweat it out a few days. My husband drives a hard bargain and he's good at "playing the game". I'm not. I'm a nervous wreck, but I trust him to know how to do this.
Well, breakfast is almost ready. Butch has made bacon and his Mamaw's homemade biscuits this morning. (Personally, I think the biscuits are more like rocks--way too heavy, but he loves them. I'll just nibble on half of one to keep the peace. LOL!) It's just a treat for me not to be cooking breakfast for a change.
Love you all!
Vickie,
My daughter sent me slippers that go in the microwave for one minute and stay warm for about one hour. I think she found them at Bed Bath & Beyond. The bottom insert has little grains of 'something' that retains the heat.
Too bulky for walking, but great to wear while reading, sitting and staying cozy.
Annette
Thanks for the tip, Annette! And Jeannie, too. Actually I have had some microwave slippers before--they had little gel pac inserts to heat up. They were great for about 30 minutes and then, as they cooled, my feet started to feel cold and damp. I've also made little "bed buddies" in the past. Sew up a hand towel into a tube (or just use an old pair of tube socks and tie them off, for you non-sewers), and fill the tube with either deer corn or dried lentils. Microwave for 2 minutes. Sheer heaven on cold feet. But I needed something I could wear around the house all day long, hence the sheep skin fleece lined boots.
Actually I just finished my first pair of woolen crocheted socks this evening and they are warm, too, but I know from experience I really can't walk on them much. The yarn just won't hold up. But they're great for wearing to bed at night.
Oh, well, cold feet are a small price to pay for being thinner and healthier again. Night-night!
Hello to all my sweet OFF sisters,
I'm praying for each of you. So much going on right now.
I have a fun 2 weeks coming up. My friend, Maryann, arrives tomorrow from Indiana for 2 weeks. We plan on swimming everyday. Also I got tickets to a concert. It's a Christian group called MercyMe. Do you know them Trish? I'm dog sitting but the owner said Maryann can stay with me.
Doing laundry and such so I can relax this evening. Every night I'm watching a Johnny Depp movie. I'm on Pirates 3. Such fun.
Must change sheets. Will talk more soon. Hugs, Mag
