Hi Eileen:
I am waiting for my appointment in June to see the knee surgeon...we are considering "duralane injections" to create a gel pad since my knees are bone on bone. ($500.00 per knee)
Can you please elaborate on this neurostim implant? I have never heard of it.
Linda...if you want to try colouring, visit my facebook webpage
www.facebook.com/CMHMandalas
and print off any or all of the FREE mandalas there to colour...no strings attached.
Enjoy...see the instructions, they work better that way.
Well, hello Laureen and my OFF family:
Long time no see. Glad to see you again.
Yes, I know all about weather-related headaches. I have them a lot.
I have been seeing a new chiropractor the past two days. The other guy I liked, but he wasn't in my network and I couldn't afford to pay out of pocket, especially now that my deductible is paid and my care is free. (So happy that is so because my recent hospital stay, plus the ambulance ride, wasn't cheap, but it was all paid, other than $54.60 to the ambulance company.) The new chiro is a young guy who does things a little differently. He is stretching out my hips on this table ... I call it the rack. Not really. He also did a couple of acupuncture points on my elbows that were supposed to help my knees. When I left, they felt good ... after walking around the new Meijer, not so good. Oh well ... I tend to overdo it when I feel good. He is having me come three times a week to see if we can get my back feeling better. He knows the guy who does the neurostim implants at my ortho group. I have to wait until I get cleared by the cardiologist to get the neurostim, though.
So today we found out at work that we will be training on the new content management system in August, one of two papers getting it early. Lucky us! More training. We've already been going through training the past several weeks. Now there's more. And then they'll probably lay off several of us anyway. Well, no use worrying about it. Just closer to retirement.
The new Meijer is wonderful ... I didn't get through the non-food areas of the store and not even all of the food areas but was still very impressed with the rest of the store. I love this chain ... we had them in Grand Rapids. The grand opening is Sunday but I have to work and I'm not getting up at 6 a.m. for it.
Good to see all the "old-timers" ... Sorry I haven't been around lately but have been busy with work/home stuff (it's different having a roomie ... my brother, in case you don't know). We went to Golden Corral for dinner last night. Not my choice, but my brother was paying. The salad bar was good ... I filled myself up on that, fortunately, and there wasn't much I could eat of other stuff ... all fried. The steaks didn't come out until 4 p.m. (we were there for the senior early bird special). I didn't even try any dessert, not even ice cream, because I was feeling sick after a little bit of fried food. Should've stuck with the salad bar.
Anyway, should get back to work. Or see if there's anything for me to do.
Julia, Google power pudding; it's what I was given in the hospital for constipation after my first knee surgery. Guaranteed to make you go. And it's not bad tasting, either. It's a mix of applesauce, prune juice, mineral oil, bran ... can't remember everything. But I ate a bit of it and an hour later, bam, I went. And I was taken stool softeners and fibercon too, and couldn't go. But see, they're used to knee replacement patients being unable to go because of the pain killers.
Thanks! I'm going to buy some if this doesnt resolve by morning!
Hi Ladies,
It was another beautiful day here in Michigan. I exercise twice today. My food is the same as yesterday.
I did get into the chocolate chips last night but only one handful. Guess I need to make my splenda chocolate chip cookies.
Guess I better get off here and do something productive around my house.
Everyone have a good day.
Love and hugs,
Yvonne
Julia...have you tried Miralax for your problem?
I had an increasingly difficult time with my bowels as I gained weight. I was lucky if I went once every 10 days! I took several OTC meds to get moving & added bran & bulk to my diet...still no success with frequency.
I became desperate & even began taking the colonoscopy prep stuff, but even that was minimally successful & not good on a regular basis.
Since surgery I have been okay, but I did have a couple times I needed to get things moving. They talk about Miralax on the other boards so I tried it. It really does work great! And unlike alot of laxatives you can use it daily if necessary.
You might want to try it if you haven't already...
Good luck regardless!

Kathy
Hi All,
I am sitting here contemplating my food for the day. I skipped breakfast but I'm drinking water. Soon I will have brunch...probably tuna with a couple of crackers, or a half tuna sandwich. Dinner is an Italian pasta with a large green salad.
The weather here is summery, but the wind has picked up today. I don't complain much about the weather because it is usually quite good. I truly think that our high cost of living is based on the weather...you just can't beat it.
I have my jewelry class today at 1:00.
We have decided to get solar installed on our roof and also on our daughters across the street. It's exciting to do this...not sure how long it will take to pay for itself, but I'm thinking we will be glad that we did it. The tax incentive is very good also.
Im eating prunes Jeannie but still having a problem...geez. I'll add a couple more today. I think that I'll do fine once I clear the build up...lol.
Happy Day to all of you!
Julia
hello ladies
Today I've been doing laundry. I didn't really have breakfast. I got busy and forgot. So far today I've had a few crackers and tuna salad plus my water, meds, and vitamins. Snack will be celery and carrots with more water. I haven't thought far enough ahead to know what supper will be but I have healthy choices in the fridge.
At 2 I have line dance. That should insure my 10,000 steps.
That's it for me. See ya tomorrow
Good Morning Laureen and OFF,
Well, we have had a few sunny days here in Michigan, so I have no clue where your clouds are coming from. You guys usually get our weather the next day, coz my family is right across the river from you.
Well, I failed to get my walk in yesterday, so my total number of steps was too low. Must do it today.
My food was okay yesterday, but I did get into some sugar. Today, I have to check my freezer to see what's to thaw for dinner.
Must get moving. My living looks like an explosion of boxes and laundry.
Hugs
