Hi Kathy...what a small world! We need to get together for coffee one day!

Hi Debbie!
It's so good to see you! I hope you can keep coming to see us!
Hi Laureen!
It is great to see you. I know that my experiences and yours are not the same, but we have been through some similar life events and I can relate to your descriptions. I also lost my brother at an age that was not normal (34) and my grief was terribly difficult and lasted for many years...maybe it will never end but I do feel much better now than I did then.
I also had the blocked small intestine. My symptoms were that nothing could go through, water or food. I spent five days puking and was so dehydrated I went to emergency for hydration and they didn't admit me. I went back to my doctor the next week and had lost 17 pounds in a week. He sent me straight to the hospital where they found the kinked bowel and lots of scar tissue. They put a tube down my throat and just screwed around trying to avoid surgery for a few days. My weight loss surgeon was on disability and the one they got to handle my case did it as a favor. He fixed me up but also told me how dangerous it all was and that the esophageal tube would have never worked. I came out feeling very weak and vulnerable.
The regain is part of my battle too. We have really been trying to change this board a bit to include more help to each other specifically in the weight loss and maintenance area. We are striving to be positive and inclusive.
So welcome back!
Julia
Linda,
Do you think they will go for the knee replacement? I am thinking of getting my right knee done soon...it hurts so much and I am so limited in walking now. But, I'm sort of afraid to have it done because of the possibility...you know?
Yvonne,
Both are great news....losing two pounds is great and a job interview is excellent. One of the main reasons I don't retire is I know if I stayed home, I'd do nothing but cook and eat and girl, I cannot do that at all....
Hi Ladies,
I got a job interview for tomorrow. It's only part time but it will help supplement my income.
I lost 2 lbs this week. Today I'm eating good and healthy. Also got a nice walk in today since it warmed up from the weekend. We had some snowflakes yesterday.
Everyone have a good evening.
Love and hugs,
Yvonne
I'm back. I had knee x-rays taken and I have the disc. The report will be e-mailed to me in a day or so. Been having problems with my thumbs for a couple of years also. In addition to pain my forearm gets numb when the thumb is used much. Dr. Maganti said the numbness was nerves. She gave me exercises to try and injections in both thumb joints. If the numbness persists I need a nerve conduction test done. She thinks I have spurs on that joint and when I move it the nerve gets rubbed or caught. If that is the case I am not sure anything will help. I am now researching ortho surgeons to see when the report comes back. Yay what fun.
I spent a lot of time in waiting rooms today so I have only walked 2,000 steps. I am behind and it is raining. If it stops I'll walk in the neighborhood or I'll never make the 6,000 minimum I want.
Diet today is going ok.
Hey Debbie,
Where have you been hiding; what have you been doing....spill the beans girl. So good to see you again.
Yay you found us. Now don't lose us again. Ya don't have to wait until the 31st to post. Chime in daily. See ya
Well hi Debbie!!!
