Topic: Sleepy Thursday

Good morning sistas,

Well, Caralee and I survived our first night alone together, although I think she did better than I did.  It was really hard for me to relax and fall into a deep sleep because I kept listening for her to wake up.  We had a 2 a.m. feeding and a 6 a.m. feeding, which wasn't bad for a 6 week old.  But I just never could really sleep.

I'm up now, though, because my right shoulder and right hip were aching.  Caralee is still snoozing.  I thought I'd better tap out a note while I have a chance.

I sent Carrie several updates, pics, and even a couple of short little movies last night.  She was really missing her baby!  I hope she was able to sleep.  Lord knows, she needs the rest.  And I'm a bit worried about her breasts.  This will be her first real total break from breastfeeding.  She was down to just comfort suckling the baby once or twice a day, but I'm worried she's going to get rock hard and hurting before she comes back tomorrow.  I told her to express a little milk before that happens and also to bind her breasts as tightly as she can.  I remember when I quit breastfeeding Christie.  I had that horrible milk fever for three days.  It HURT.

No plans for today except to watch the baby and my garden grow.  I did take a walk yesterday evening.  I did a mile.  Mom watched the baby for me.  But it's not supposed to be damp or wet or rainy today, so I'll take Caralee with me for a nice stroll around the neighborhood.

Oh, and I did get back on track with my diet yesterday.  Thank goodness.  Easter knocked me for a bit of a loop with the sugar monster.  But I don't think I've lost seven pounds this week.  Friday is my day of accountability.  I've got a lot of ground to make up for in one day, huh?

Wishing everyone a great and pain-free day!  Love you all!

Hello Vic and Ladies,

When my granddaughter and grandson were babies (her an infant and he 3), the weekends that I had them wore me out. I remember thinking how in the hell did I raise two kids not even 13 months apart all by myself....you, like me, will do just fine. You will get tired and maybe frustrated but in the end, you will be a good grandmother and surrogate mom to your baby girl.

I hate that the dog didn't work out and I also hope they find her a new home. If you are like me, you will worry yourself sic****il they do find it a home.

DH is watching a funny program on TV and is laughing so it must be funny. The new medication they gave him has made his nausea more manageable.

Tomorrow morning, I am leaving for Denver until Saturday...I'm presenting at a conference and couldn't get out of paying for the hotel and the conference, even with DH's illness, so I am regretfully going.

Well, ladies, my clothes are dry so I better get to packing...damnit.

Talk to you later,

Eileen,

I cracked a tooth a few years back eating an almond.  Now, every time I eat one, I think about that tooth.

I know you are worried about what's going to happen. I really hope that if you are let go, you are able to get benefits until you can either go on disability or regular social security.

I will sling a chicken or two for you, my friend.

Hi, everyone.  Went to the dr. today.  Got a script for more cough medicine.  Still a little crackling sound in the bottom portion of my left lung.  She's ordered an ultrasound of my heart.  Will know more once that has been done.

Hubby still sick with this darn pneumonia.  The dr. said they've seen a spike of this respiratory stuff in the last month in our area.  It was warm enough outside today to open the windows and air this house out.  Tomorrow will also be nice and warm so I'll open them again.  Trying to get rid of all the germs.

Well, the dog is crying -- either wants to go out or be fed.

That's it for me for today.

Hugs and kisses.

It's very cute. One of my high school friends has ponds and a little waterfall in her backyard. And she has spotlights and everything. It's so cool. I loved having a vegetable garden when I rented this house in South Dakota, and planted spring flowers, but I had a stupid guy who mowed my lawn and he chopped up my daffodils around the trees. He thought they were weeds.  My only problem is I found I was allergic to the flowers, so I couldn't bring them in the house. Plus I was allergic to the lilac bushes, so when they were in bloom, I had to have the windows closed. Now I just keep all the windows closed and don't bother. I love the flowers but can't handle the pollen. Silk flowers for me, only.

Hi Yvonne,

I'm hoping to take a walk this evening, but don't know.  It keeps clouding over and sprinkling a bit.  Then it will clear up a little.  If I go, I'll have to take the baby in the stroller and I don't want to get caught out with her if it starts to rain.

My craving for sweets is a monster that I don't seem to ever vanquish!  Oh, it is a plague.  Like I said earlier, if I eat just one bite, I'm done for.  I have to fight it constantly.

Hope you have a good evening.  I love to read.  Although lately I seem to listen to audiobooks more than anything else.  I just set the timer and fall asleep listening to the story.

Love you!

Hi Ladies,

It's a warm day but is rainy. I thought I would get a walk in outside before it rain but didn't happen. Then it's supposed to get cold again.

At least I didn't gain any weight this week but the cravings for candy is overwhelming.  Last night I finally gave in to two sugar free Popsicles.  That seem to help. Today is better.

My friend is coming over for dinner. I made my cheesy chicken chili.

No Bible study tonight so I'm going to try to catch up on my reading.

Everyone have a good night.  Thoughts and prayers  for everyone.

Love and hugs,

Yvonne
