Hello and Happy Labor Day!
Man is it ever hot and sticky out there today! I had Bandit out for his potty walk and about fell over it was so hot. Told him to hurry up before he got overheated! Wanted to go to the fair to see the demolition derby but not in this heat!! Not gonna sit in the sun for that. No way. This old lady can't take that heat anymore.
Yesterday Rick made some BBQ. I had baby back ribs and he had peppercorn pork tenderloin. He can do the hot stuff. I can't anymore. Having leftovers for lunch today. Not sure if he is going to do anything else on the grill for supper or not. I have burger meat that I want made into logs wrapped around cheese sticks then put into hot dog bun. He won't eat it but I will. LOL He has thick pork chops. He loves pork. Think he would get tired of it after eating so much of it. Oh well.
Speaking of food...have any of you noticed that food has/is being made with HOT spices now? Taco Bell I can't eat that anymore. Little Caesar's pizza is now hot sauce. That is out for me. A lot of other pizza places are also doing hot sauces now. WHY??? Do they all think EVERYONE is into HOT???? Notice the commercials...everything they are advertising now is HOT & Spicy. WHY???? What happened to dress it up yourself?
Got new cell phones Friday. Galaxy J7 Prime Love it!!! Learning how to use it yet. Seems a lot easier than my old smart phone. And this carrier I have everything unlimited!! WOOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!! I can get rid of my internet if I want to!! I can just use my phone now!!
But kind of hard to play my games on a small screen...
So that is about all for my news today.
HUGSSSSSSSSS
Hi Sassy,
I would say if you get the OK then do it...but again think long and hard....It is the best thing I have ever done for myself!!!
HUGSSSSSSSS
Susan I would go with your Dr's advice on this one. If it is going to help you down the road later on in life...yes go for it. Later on doing this might be too late. So think long and hard about it.

I am at the point they can all KMA!!! LOL
I am so sad that your Dr failed you when you could have had something done sooner for your heart!! Can you do something to that Dr? Just a thought...
My younger brother is talking to my older one again. I told Bill that Joe owes me an apology. He said Joe is "working" a lot and blah blah blah...oh bull ****!! I can see him on FB and his party party party...he is not working ALL the time. He said well he does have to have some fun you know. Yeah...like he ever called me to see how I was doing after mom died. NO! I am fed up. Like I said KMA.
I hear you on the nosey people on here...they need to get a life. Can't talk to us but they can sure gossip about us.
I take gabapatin for my siatic nerve pain not sure I am spelling that right but I am sure that won't get refilled due to the drug addicts. It works great for me so ofcourse I won't get it.
I write in my journal a few times a week. Glad that your Dr gave you something to help you.

I am 63 and had an abnormal ekg I see my primary next month to discuss the results. I am conflicted about having surgery at my age but I think as long as I get an ok from either my primary or go to a cardiologist I will move forward. I have had numerous chronic health issues in the last year. I think wls is my one option to get the weight off and get healthier. Talk to your doctor and cardiologist if need be. I know a number of people with heart problems that have been recommended to get wls. Good luck
Hi!
It is always a personal choice whether or not to proceed with surgery once you get close to your actual date. Many things can happen between that first consult and going under the knife.
I had the same question prior to having the sleeve. I had never ever lost more than 20 lbs. in my entire life, but at 58 and with the help of my pre-op dietician I lost 75 lbs. by the month my surgery was scheduled! It was recommended I lose about 150 lbs., but MY goal was only 125. I considered not doing the surgery to get that last 50 off.
But then I decided to go ahead because I knew I had a lifelong eating problem, and I didn't want to lose the opportunity to get that tool. At 58 my chances of going thru the whole process again to qualify, etc. later down the road just didnt make sense. The benefits of the surgery outweighed the risks...
As you know I have the afib heart condition and extra weight could make it worse. Another factor in why I decided to have the surgery.
Have you talked to your doctor or cardiologist about what your diagnosis means and if it would prevent you or benefit you in terms of surgery.
Hopefully you can get some other points of view here or on the general or VSG forum.
Best of luck!
Kathy
