Scar Tissue Lump after Breast Lift
Well, it's been 3.5 months since my breast lift and I noticed a lump on my breast. My first thought was scar tissue, fluid cyst, etc, but I wanted to be sure. I just got back from seeing my PS and she said it's definitely scar tissue from my surgery. Okay, fine, so now what? I'm scheduled for a revision in her office next month where she will remove the excess skin flaps underneath my breasts as I had the lollipop incision, and she will also fix a dog ear from my tummy tuck almost two years ago. She said she'll see at that time, but she might remove the scar tissue at that time. So now that sounds like it could hurt! In the doctor's office! She gave me an RX for some valium. I wonder if I could bring a ****tail with me. heheheh....
Has anyone else discovered lumps after their breast lift? Hope everyone is having a good day. It's only +7 here today. I've about had it with this cold weather!

Hi. If it's round, slightly rubbery, and at the bottom of the breast it is in all liklihood fat necrosis and will go away on it's own over a period of 6 mos. It has a very characteristic appearance on mammogram and ultrasound.
If you are having regular mammos it's worth looking at the spot. I see this quite commonly with the LeJour or lollipop breast surgery because that's where all the real work is done. Fat gets hard and "knotty" after the manipulation.
Let us know what happens!

Just to update everyone... went to see my PS, the verdict is... scar tissue. Okay... so now what... she said after my in office revision to remove this puckering of sking under my breasts... she'll decide to remove the lump then. In the office!! I'm just amazed... I'll be taking the Valium for sure. heheh. She said though absolutely no mammogram or ultra sound until she says. Okay. I do what she says... and I think that's why I've healed so well with both the tummy tuck and the breast lift.
I was a little concerned about breast tenderness. I'm 3.5 months out from my lift and I'm still tender.. and wanted to know if that was normal. Some people on the board said they weren't sore and I should contact my PS. I did... she says yes. How 'bout your patients? After a breast lift with the LeJour... are they're breasts still tender at 3.5 months out? Please say yes. hehe... have a great day.
Hi Vickie!
It has finally cooled down here and feels more like winter - it was just not natural that I was out walking on MLK day and had to remove my jacket! Of course, +7 is a bit extreme and definitely not a temperature I would enjoy.
I still have a hard area along the bottom of one breast. I figured it was scar tissue and I would just wait and see if it resolves itself. It has actually felt smaller and softer as time has passed. I will be having my first post-op mammogram in March or April. I figure that should be interesting. Have you scheduled yours yet?
Stay warm!
Best wishes,
Sharon
I had scar tissue. I never notice any lumps but one breast was tighter/perkier then the other and it ached. I had my Implants put in 6-2003 and I discovered the problems 3-2006. I'd have never know this scar tissue was causing the problem but I had the PS hand check to see if my Implants were under or on top of the muscle (ended up that they were on top) and this was when he discovered the problem and told me. I had the revision some months later and the problem seems to be slowly coming back. The surgeon who discovered the scar tissue told me that there is an Implant that is Cohesive Gel but that the outside of it is different than the industry standard type. The outside of it is sorta fuzzy (my best description) and he said that this "type" is special and it allows the Implant to adhere to the bodys tissues better than the other type. I didn't have this doctor do the revision and I may live to regret that. Might be that I'll need another revision sometime down the road.
