Breast reduction WITHOUT implants-- anyone?

I started at 368 pounds and as a size 48H-- am now 261 pounds and a 42DDD--- fact is, the sweater puppies ain't goin' away anytime soon, so I know I will need a reduction when I get further along in this journey. My question is-- is it possible to get a decent aesthetic result without implants? Size isn't important-- a full B or C cup'd be fine. Thanks!

This is a very common approach. Many people I have read about here have done just that and are very happy with the results.

My SIL was a 34DDD before breast reduction and now is a 34D.  No implants - and she looks great and has no support issues.

I was a 48DDD at 325.  My puppies didn't want to go down much either as I ended up a 38DDD LONG.  I had a BL 4/13/07 and now they are a 36DD which I think MIGHT be a bit too big, but for now I'm ok with it.  They are nice and perky and I'm a very happy camper!! Trisha

Hi, Thats the same problem I have.  I have been large breasted all my life and DID NOT want implants. The 1 doctor that I talked to about it said it would be tight but that he could make me a "B" cup.  I am currently 34F which makes bras nearly impossible to find- I have to order them online and they are expensive. I have about a B cup worth of breast tissue left, all the rest is empty skin so I will be looking into that skin removal early next year.  Its the final stage in my reconstruction, I don't want to do anything else after that. I too had BL/BR and am pretty happy with one boob.  I have had problems with scar tissue causing the other boob not to fall down in the pocket.  If I could get them a little more symmetrical, I would be very pleased.  I think I have a revision surgery in my near future.   I am so glad I don't have the added worries with implants and having to get them replaced etc.  If you have enough breast tissue you should be very happy. I am completely satisfied with my breast reduction 38DDD to 38C.  I will be having revisions in the summer for the little dog ears at the end of the incision ( a common revision).  I will be having my arms done so he will touch up several things, but NO IMPLANTS, NO WAY!!!  I've had em all my life and certainly don't want them anymore.  BYE BYE to big BOOBS!  Loving my C cups! I would love 38C.  I went to consult and the PS doc said he would do a lift, but no reduction.  I really, really wanted a reduction from my 38DD.  I am going to a second opinion.  I think the DD cups force me into a bigger top size that is disportionate to my bottoms (size 12). I hope I find someone willing to do this reduction for me.

I started at over 50F and when pregnant was G/H, I also started @ 358 lbs. I kept my boobs cup size until down to 190+/- lbs, then the last 20 lbs.. BOOM.. it came out of my boobs.... I went from a 36F down to 34D or 36 C LONG... From breast bone to nipple was 30 cm long!! My Plastics surgeon told me that he reccommended a lift first(I want to be a D againI think), and then a lift. I just had surgery on friday. They are perky, and where they should be, but just not big enough for me... I will update more pics later.. Currently only have one pic with support bra on, which has gauze in it... it's in my pictrail, plastics folder, password ps

Hi. I had a breast reduction in November of 2001 prior to my WLS. My PS at the time took off 8 pounds from each breast, leaving me at a B cup. That is what I wanted. After my WLS, I lost breast tissue and what remained fell though the pocket. I looked like a flat pancake. I probably was an A cup. All 3 of my PS consultants told me that I wouldn't be happy with just a breast lift. So I listened to them and had 300cc silicone breast implants put in this March. I didn't have the support to keep them up in position as my first PS removed my inframammary folds and both of them fell through the pocket again. My PS didn't want to use mesh as mesh obscures mammography findings. I decided to have my breast implants removed. I'm having them done in November. I think that you will be able to just have a lift with your breast reduction and do just fine!  Good Luck! Lucy
