Well, my DH keeps saying that I dont need PS. Well. I decided to lean forward push up style off the bed while naked. He saw the udders and loose skin hanging everywhere and said "ewe" and asked me never to do that again. Well, at least now he knows why I want PS. I see all angles of myself.

My hubby knew better than to question my need! He didn't want even the slightest chance that image of me in his head.

He was more than willing to pay whatever it took to go to Mexico to get this mess fixed.

My husband was vehemently against WLS.  He came around after I had the surgery and is my biggest fan now and even touts WLS to people!

After my WLS (and obviously before my PS), my little daughter saw me laying on the bed on my side once in my panties & bra.  She pointed at my hip bone and said, "momma... what's that?"  I looked at my hip bone (not knowing she was pointing at that) and said, "what baby?"  She put her hand on my hip bone and said "that gross bone sticking out there".  I said, "that's my hip bone baby".  She wrinkled her nose and said, "that's a gross bone mamma".

My husband was either "broken in" by the idea of surgery from my RNY so that when I wanted my plastic surgery, he just said "whatever makes you happy baby" because he meant it or knew he was going to lose the fight anyway.... OR he concurred with my daughter.  I'm not sure which.  LOL

Never say we women are not resourceful.

Good way to get your point across.

I did the same thing to my MOM! LOL!  She kept saying she didn't think I needed PS.  We were alone at her house and I said "OK..I'm going to show you"!  I peeled off my clothes and showed her!  She was shocked!  She couldn't believe how all that skin was hidden beneath my clothes!

Needless to say...she's a believer now!!! LOL!

I've had to do that to a friend who was CONVINCED by pants were so baggy cause I need a smaller size. She got the point. My husband has always been on board. Thankfully he's my biggest advocate.

Unfortunately AND fortunately, we are really good at hiding the excess skin!  The massive amounts of excess skin!  BUT what it does is it makes people think we look as good naked as we do dressed.  Spanx, flexees and a belly binder have been my tools, but I often have to drop my drawers and show those who doubt that the ugliness lies beneath all the lycra!

It's shocking!

You're a smart woman Johns-wife!

"Nora, if you exercise you wont need plastic surgery"

I got to my goal weight in Jan 2003.  If six years of intense cardio and weight training doesn't take of the excess skin, nothing will.  Obesity is well documented for causing all sorts of damage - cardiovascular, liver, joints.  Why is it so easy to overlook the damage it causes to the skin?  Some of the damage isn't permanent, THANK GOD, but skin that's lost it's elasity is permanently that way.

Your dad wouldn't be against a procedure to correct heart damage.  PS corrects skin damage.
