Not 30 but 26 instead
I have had a similar weight loss and am a patient of Dr. Lavin. Would you mind posting which other plastic surgeons with whom you consulted and why you chose the doctor that you did? I am starting my search, and I am looking for someone who has extensive experience with our level of excessive skin. Thanks so much!
I only went to Dr. Lindsey. Dr. Lavin gave me a list of surgeons and he was on it. One of the support group members went to him and loved the results. Initially I intended to go to two others for consult, but I like Lindsey so much that I went with him and did not make appointments with the other two.
I cannot wait to see your photo's. I posted some of mine, I should take some more of the healing scar. It is doing very well.
Up until this time I really didn't have a WOW moment. I mean I had moments where I realized I fit into a booth, small chair with arms or something like that but not one of those, HOLY CRAP I can (???) moments. I used to sit down and would literally lift my gut and move it to where it was comfortable. Especially when I went to the restroom or was sitting where I was in a more erect position, like your would sit in the restroom, a hard backed chair, the doctor's office, etc...
So I sat down and would reach down to reposition my gut and my hands would hit my compression garment... what the heck? It was no big deal and I didn't think much of it, maybe because it was the first week and I was still healing. When the drains came out about two weeks later and the wounds healed where the drains were (only took a couple days) I took my first post-op shower. That was when I noticed for real.
I was sitting there naked on the toilet waiting for the shower to get hot, it was the first time I didn't have the binder on except when changing bandages. As I always did, I reached down to reposition my gut and my hands touched the wound and staples. That is when I really went, 'WOW' I am getting thin.
I also never thought I would have to worry about my gut hanging out from the underside of my shirts. Whoo Hoo it doesn't and I know you will or do feel the same way. I still haven't noticed a big change in my back but all I do it sit in the recliner. Well I am walking a lot but not like I was, up and down trails in the woods and such.
GOOD LUCK on the healing and I can't wait to see pictures.
