New here. X-post: Holy crap all my plastics were approved!
Thanks. I have called BCBS twice and spoken to 2 different people to make sure I have the time to schedule.
I have gotten the thumbs up from both to wait until late summer.

That is absolutely wonderful! I know when my approval came in, I did the happy dance for about an hour, and then said "OMG - what now???"
You're on target when you say to strengthen your body before surgery. The stronger ALL your muscles are, the easier it is to get around after surgery.
I had the LBL/anchor/breast lift/breast reduction/brachioplasty all at once. I will be going in for thighs in March. My recovery time from the first batch was 2 1/2 weeks if you mean when did I go back to work. I did need to come home and sleep for an hour or two each day the first week, and took off a day to just sleep. That anesthesia hangs on!
Pain, however, was no big deal. I had a morphine pump in the hospital (one night), took vicodin for about 2 more days, then switched to tylenol for a couple days. Other than that, no issues.
Preparation was working on strength and getting body fat mass down as low as my physicians said I could safely go. Also making sure to get 125-150g of protein each day (hitting the higher number for a couple weeks before and after surgery, and still hitting the lower number daily).
I found that, where many people suggest a soft t-shirt under the binder you'll have for the tummy work, I preferred a cotton camisole (old navy usually has some of these on clearance for under $5). Unlike a t-shirt, you can pull this up over your hips, which is a whole lot easier after the arms are done!
I was fine sleeping in the recliner for most of the night, but would try to spend a couple hours in bed with DH. It seemed to work. A seat for the shower and a hand-held shower head, however, were absolute necessities the first couple weeks!
Lots of comfy clothes - I grabbed a bunch of DD's old workout clothes and pretty much lived in them with my robe and slippers. Don't plan on much of anything. I expected to knit, had a couple easy books to read for post-op: naaah. Just did a lot of sleeping, even in the middle of a sentence.
My pouch was very tight for the first week, and it almost freaked DH out how little food I was actually eating. But that eased up, and things are back to normal.
Best of luck - it's quite a journey you're on!

Hey Thanks!!
Believe me...I did that happy dance.
Then I collapsed in a heap and started worrying.
I'm a worrier by nature.
Thanks for the advice.
I'm also a realist. I need to hear the good, the bad and the ugly!
I'm soaking it all in.
