Sweating at night

I have a weird question.  This may be unrelated but I don't know.  I've been sweating at night lately.  I only sweat from the knee to my buttocks; this happens to be where all my extra skin is too.  At first I thought it was because I was wearing heavy fleece pajamas at night.  I quite wearing those pajamas and just wear underwear and I still wake up with my sheets wet.  I am not sick, I'm not too hot anywhere else.  I am very cold otherwise (hand and feet are freezing and I'm always cold).  I've slept in a couple different beds with different bedding and it's the same outcome.  Is this because of my extra skin?   Is this because my metabolism has changed?   Anyone have this same issue?

Have you had any other low sugar issues? I was freaking out thinking I had night sweats (freak was because I am 41 and a little young for 'the change').

After a visit with an Endo, found out that I was having bad 'sugar crashes' (low blood sugar) while I slept. I take a sleeping pill so I wouldn't wake up during the episodes.

Since there is no pill for low blood sugar, I just started eating a protein bar right after I took my sleeping pill (because they work best on an empty stomach lol).

For me (at least) that stopped the routine of waking up in a circle of damp sheets. :/

Any chance that it is menopause or peri-menopause?

I have night sweats a few times a week -- otherwise I am constantly cold.  I get 1 - 3 small hot flashes during the day (about 10 seconds of warmth) -- and the night sweats.

I am almost 53.
