I'm allowd to take my bandages off tomorrow from my panniculectomy...What did you do to procect the incision from the uncomfortable binder?..Plus have two drains in..

I wore long tank tops - long enough to cover my body under the abdominal binder. I bought mine at Target and they were very soft cotton/lyca blend. Because of the stretch I was able to place my bandages over my wounds and hold them in place by the t-shirt rather than having to use tape to hold them in place. You could also buy cotton men's tank tops - "wife beaters" style.

My doc said to use gauze padding, or a cheaper alternative - maxi pads, lol! Obviously, cotton side over incisions.

Ha!  Maxi Pads would be perfect!  Great idea thanks for sharing.

I kept ointment and gauze on until all the scabs fell off.  Once the stitches were out, I started wearing ribbed tops over the breast/arm garment and under my abdominal binder.  I found a couple of stretchy tops with the bra built in and thin little straps, a bit different depending on what you are wearing.

I wear men's tank tops under the binder and boy-shorts undies (none if I'm at home). My incision is hip-to-hip. My doc told me to keep my incision dry, so I only use moisturizing lotion on areas around incision if they need it. I used larger safety pins to secure each drain to the binder.

I also used maxi pads until the incisions healed. They provided a nice barrier and kept my polysporin off my t-shirt.
