LBL, Arms, Breasts - Day 4

 Thanks
I was nervous about mine, too.  I had a tough recovery from my WLS - not so much pain, but just overall feeling sick, weak, tired, etc.

My plastics recovery is getting better every day.  Today (Day 5) I got up and washed my hair in the kitchen sink on my own.  I did this because I'm not supposed to lift my arms over my head.  I also took a shower with my husband's help, but it was much easier than I thought.  I'm sore and swollen, but it's not all that bad.  The incisions look much, much worse than they feel.

It's so good to see a post from you, Joanne. It sounds like you are doing really well. The appetite will return, just give it time. I also lived on shakes for a couple of weeks.  You will find it gets a little easier every day. I am so happy for you! The swelling can skew your results at first, just be patient and you'll love what you see in the end!

Thanks so much Renee.  Your plastics were such an inspiration to me.  I cant wait for the swelling to go down, my tummy is bigger now than pre-plastics.  I'm not worried about it, just anxious to see something good!

My butt is amazing!  It was a sharpei butt with at least a dozen folds, and now it's smooth and tight.  I think when the swelling goes down it will loosen up a bit, but I've never had such a cute butt in my whole life!  LOL

Joanne, Sounds like you're doing all the right things! I'm so glad to see you posting and you are right about not weighing and about the results, it all takes time. I, like Chris, still swell at times, I'm still sleeping in a sports bra too, it's just comfortable for me.
Keep taking it easy.. thinking of you!

 Hi my friend,
I'm doing better than I thought, I just cant wait to stand up straight.  But everything so far has been ok, and each day is easier.

It took me a while to stand up straight, I did use pillows under my knees and arms, not sure if that'd hurt your arms, but it helped with the tightness in the stomach.
Glad you're doing better than you thought! Hugs to you!

Hi there...

I have a quick question on your brachio - BL/AUG - How long until you can lift your arms over your head?  I have someone to help me the first 6 days, but then I am on my own as far as showering/etc.

Would greatly appreciate your insights and tips / tricks on things if you're willing to share!

Thanks!

Dr. Benn gave me an incredible tool.. and I intend to make the most out of it!!

 Hi,
My surgeon said no lifting them over my head at all for 2 weeks, then nothing more than 5 pounds for about 6 weeks.

I'm on Day 6 today (counting surgery day, so I'm 5 days out I suppose).  The pain isnt all that bad, but I cant reach far for things.  I'm home alone this afternoon and doing ok - as long as I made sure my husband put everything I might need on the counter top or within reach level around the house.

If it's any help, I found I am ok washing my hair in the kitchen sink, bent over.  That way I can keep my upper arms mostly at my sides and just reach my hair with my forearms.  I can shower the rest of my body by myself, but I'm sure I'm missing some parts because I cant reach far.  Each day is getting much better, though.
