When did you decide to have plastics?

That makes sense on the arms for sure. I saw your after pics and I have to say that is the reason I am thinking about doing the tummy and breasts. I am happy with the weight loss, but at the same time, I think of doing all this work and working out daily and NOT looking my best and I think I deserve that - eventually.

Yes, you do deserve it!! I was so happy to get rid of my constant painful reminder of my obesity. And the scars do not bother me in the least. I finally feel at peace with myself.

Just keep doing your research as you are continuing to lose. You could start getting consults now, just to get an idea, but I think you should wait a little longer for best results. You do look fabulous in clothes!!

Thanks so much - I am really enjoying shopping now that I can fit into a 12. It unbelievable how many avenues have opened up clothes-wise!

My surgeon wanted me at goal and maintaining.  I have lost weight every one of my 27 months post RNY and didn't get to goal till 22 months out.

I'm sure you will lose more weight.  As much as the hanging skin may bother you, I would think I would wait until I'm done losing - and maintaining before I would do something so drastic.  Additional weight loss will "undo" your flat tummy and you will have hanging skin again and the plastic surgeon won't have as much to work with the 2nd time around.

I wish you the best whatever you decide.

I think I will be waiting regardless, because of time off work and money! And I would want to see where I ended up 'naturally' or at a setpoint, so to speak. My weight loss has slowed this month considerably but not yet completely stalled out. I do hope the additional 30-35 pounds comes off! I am working out five days a week in the mornings plus taking karate two nights a week (two hour class) so I am literally working out 9 hours a week. I personally think that slowed the weight loss down a bit but I am ok with that as long as I'm building some muscle.

I used up all my sick leave and vacation over this year for various kids illnesses plus the RNY. I'll start over again but not til fall, so this will probably wait til winter or longer.

I think a body just knows when to stop. Being an unfilled lapband patient I can control my weight. I have always thought that a fit 175 is attractive.

Honestly I would stop losing now if I was under 200. I came from a weight of 405 so I am loving every bit of me right now and other than my stomach, arms and legs, I'm bony. I run and so my upper body and sholders is super thin.

I can see how a surgeon would be cautious on a RNY patient and how an insurance company would want a stable weight though.

Hi Scarlett,
I began immediately walking after surgery, and using my lunch break to exercise (I'm a walker) 6 months after WLS I began training with a trainer, and continue to do so. I train 2x a week, and did a couple of 5Ks and 10 ks and a half marathon. I tried to firm up as much as I could before realizing that I can't do anything more to improve this war torn body! I've been at goal for over 2 yrs. My arms are not that bad, but I do have loose areas I am not comfortable with. I live in S. Fl. so being able to wear sleeveless tops would be nice!

So I will be having my first PS in 4 days, Monday July 11th, I will have a Lower Body Lift (LBL).

Dec 2011 = Breast Lift (maybe augmentation if I find I look out of porportion after LBL)
                = Arm Lift

Summer 2012 = Thigh Lift

Good luck with your decision,
