Hi guys
I am little more awake and taking less pain meds now & up moving around more.  Congrats to all that had their surgeries and prayers for those getting ready for thier surgery.

I am just in shock.  Saw surgeon for first check up and he said I need the drains (2) for 1 more week and that everything looks great.  I have one area that is sort of gray close to incision line that he says will scab and heal from inside out that we will keep an eye on but blood flow looks good everywhere else.

He removed a total of 14+ pounds just under 15 holy crap!.  I look down and don't exactly know what to think.  I am flat and tight.  I can see my feet all the time and I can see my privates which he took care to make them normal and not distroted like I had seen in other pics.  My abd is still swollen but is going down and Dr. says that is will continue to get better with time.

My hernia was so bad that my belly button was destroyed and he did not want me under anthesia any longer so he opted to forget the belly button which I told him prior to surgery was ok to loose.  I am not sure how I feel about not having one yet but right now I don't care.  He did say we can make one later.

I am walking around pretty good standing almost straight up.  I just get really weak and when my rib cage starts to hurt I know its time for a pain med and a nap lol.

Thats all for now

Thanks Strawberry,

I am still in Awe at this whole new feeling.  I have doubled my protein shakes, I make sure my vits and water are in for each day and I walk as much as I can for the situation.  I hope all this will increase my healing.

It is so wierd not having to hold up all that skin to use the bathroom and my pubis doesnt touch the toilet set anymore WOW what a difference this has made.  I do understand that the final results are not seen for months and nothing is perfect but for what I see right now I am happy.

It's good to see an update from you, Carla. Just take it easy and keep getting as much rest as you can. It sounds like things are progressing nicely. I hope it continues that way!

Oh Renee
Even though its not perfect I am so happy with this.  I just can't get over not having this huge pannis hanging from the front of me.

I am gonna ask for copies of the pics so I can post them for others.  Dr. Wittenborn and Sheigh did a great job fixing me up.  My stay at Lee Memorial was great except for one nurse but all in all I was happy (as long as pain meds were on time lol).
