Pannus removed ~is recovery like open gastric??

So on Feb 14th im getting a panniculectomy done and im just wondering if anyone has had open gastric and if there recovery is about the same? not sure what to expect witht he recovery and pain! rather be prepared then not!! Thanks guys

My opinion is that it is easier.
My RnY was 3rd Feb 2008 Open and that was hard but the Pannilectomy was harder as I was not allowed to straighten up and my back hurt a lot. My most painful op was an Ankle Fusion.
There is pain with pannilectomy but pain killers and stool softeners; wipes and help from family/friends; drink, protein, rest- and move when possible.

It depends, are you having muscle repair done to, or is it just excess skin removal? If you are having muscle repair prepare to be in a lot of pain for about 4 days.

 I had a full tt with muscle repair and still thought the open rny was worse.  My tt was numb and never had the pain my rny did moreso swollen feeling and tightness.  So incredibly worth it.
