Will a shower hurt?

So I'm itchy all over and really want a shower tomorrow (when I'm allowed one) but I'm also so tender i wonder how much it'll hurt, I've had a reduction and lift.  Should I make sure to take my Oxycodone before or is it really no big deal?

I'm hurting today but that's because I can't take as much pain killer as I'd like since I'm alone with the kids.  How many days usually before I don't need to take pain killers all the time?  I would call my pain a 5-6 without meds and down to a 1 with meds, does that seem normal?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm a high pain threshold sort of person so this sort of caught me off guard.

It won't hurt really any more than standing and reaching around does without being in the shower.  Just be prepared to keep it short, don't make it too hot.  I made the mistake of just walking right into the HOT shower I typically like the first day I was allowed and like 2 minutes later almost ended up on the floor of the shower.  Your blood pressure is lowered right now, due to the procedure and the drugs and because you've spent days and days prone.  Pay attention to how you're feeling.

Just had to say gorgeous horse!  One of the things I"m missing for the next 4 weeks is riding my gelding.

Thank you for answering the question.  I was worried that the water on the incisions would be painful.  I"m happy that shouldn't be the case.  I told my husband he could not go to wor****il I showered for exactly the reason you said, I'm worried I'll faint!

My shower was fabalous...and not anymore pain than I already had.  I had lbl and breast lift and augmentation...and I have to say was not in much pain as far as my chest goes...just the normal I guess...was really surprised.
Good luck

Painful, probably not, but like the other poster said, keep it cool and short as possible. I love my showers and they felt amazing after surgery, but it takes a lot out of you, as strange as that sounds. I always made sure I had someone standing by for the first 3 days of showers post op for my last few surgeries because I felt good for the first couple of minutes, but raising your arms above your head to wash hair and such can lower your blood pressure and and cause you to get dizzy and light headed. I just made sure to have a towel on the bed, and went right from the shower to lay down for a few minutes, and I felt better within minutes.

When I had my TT I put a plastic chair in the shower to sit on.  My husband would fill up a bucket from the shower to rinse my hair.  It worked pretty well.
