Where did you all get your after tummy tuck binders? For those with anchor cut which kind of binder did you need? I'm going to see my surgeon Wednesday and will ask him but I'm so anxious. I just want to look at some. Also if anyone has pics with one one that would be awesome. Also for any smokers, how long did you actually quit before? Did you cheat? Did it affect your recovery? Sorry for all the questions lol. My hubby smokes so its hard to completely quit but I have cut back to 5 or less per day. Not scheduled for surgery yet but so curious!! I can't wait to get this skin off!!!! Wearing my spanx today imagining what I will look like in a couple months without having to wear them Anyone want to be my tummy tuck buddy message me. I love to text!!

My doctor is actually ordering my binder and compression garment for me. The nurse measured me for the garment at my preop appointment and my surgeon will bring it with her the day of surgery. You can check out some binders and garments in the mean time at:

As far as the smoking, most surgeons (for any procedure) will want you to stop smoking completely six weeks before your surgery. All of the doctors I consulted with stated that they would not perform a tummy tuck on a patient who smokes (lucky I don’t anymore, quit years ago). Patients that smoke are more likely to have wound healing problems and it also complicates anesthesia. Here is a link to a post on the realself.com community website where several doctors answer your question in detail:

Good luck with your procedure!

My surgeon supplies the comp. garment, mine just has velcro and you can wear it as tight as you need. I wear a men's "wife beater" tank top under, and I used maxi pads for the padding on the suture line under the tank top. So in other words, skin, maxi pad, tank top, comp garment.
Smoking really can make your healing worse. As hard as it is, stop. It will make a huge difference.

Follow me on Twitter @fatleave I've had a FTT with extended incision and a second surgery due to complications (just as invasive) I documented almost daily both times with lots of pictures and tips/suggestions. scroll to the very beginning of my posts and read onwards. Even with my complications I would do it again in a heart beat.
