Topic: Anyone had allegen band replaced w/Realize?
Hi all,

I am looking for some input, advice and thoughts. I have had an allegen band  (4 cc) since 2006 and lost 70 lbs.  I had a piece of chicken get stuck in 2009 and had a complete unfill and since then it has never been right.  I moved to Florida and felt like I had no fill.  Finally, I have been told I have been told I have a leak.   My new doctor strongly suggested going with a sleeve he said that with the Realize band I won't have the same sensation of fullness.  He said the 4cc band was pressurized as opposed to the Realize so I won't feel the full stop.  He said there is no vomiting when you overeat (not  that isn't a plus)

I want to know if anyone has switched over from the Allegan band to Relize  band and what was your experience.

I would also like to hear from you regarding what your stop sign is?  Do you feel so full you know not to take another bite?

Thank you so much
Miriam

Topic: THURSDAY GRATEFUL POST
  Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you are having a good week.   Mine is OK so far.   Today I am SO grateful for my life, health, WLS and all the choices for different surgeries.  Grateful for such a AMAZING website such as Obestiy Help.    This website has been my lifeline to success since my surgery over 6 yrs. ago.   I have come here and here alone for support and encouragement.    Grateful for all the wonderful people that I have met and talkl to almost daily here on the messageboards.    Grateful for second chances and a better...healthier life post op.    Grateful for no complications from my surgery 6 yrs. ago.    Gratefull for support groups which are so important on our WL journey.   PLEASE share with us if you will what you are grateful for today.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Thank you Kim.    I guess the "light" I was standing in didn't show my wrinkles on my face and lines.  LOL   Did you see....I am going to be a grandmother in late July or August.   I am SO excited.   Have a blessed day and so glad to see you online.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Topic: RE: Band or sleeve?
I agree with you. I am almost 10 months out, and am happy with the choice I made. I do not foresee anything happening to my Band, but if something ever does, I will have a lot of thinking to do about what to go to. Remember , you have to do the work...the Band, any of the surgeries really, are merely a TOOL...

Thank you Tom for sticking up for those of us who have the Band! I understand that not everyone has good results but I think that goes for the other surgeries, too. I, too, tell people I would do my band again. I have not had a lot of problems. The problems I have had are my own issues, with not chewing well, or eating too fast. I have had to get an unfill because I could not eat anything without it getting stuck but that was cuz I was so close to my sweet spot(which I believe I have now "hit"!). I also agree on "failing" on one I decided to go with , not talked into.
Also, Iwillbebetter72, Tom is a wealth of information! You can count on him. Good luck to you, whatever you decide.
