Purple39lady,

When I find myself "out of control", I "reset" myself by getting BACK TO THE BASICS.

What you need to do is pretend you just had the operation and do a few days (1 week) of liquids, then a few days (1 week) of soft foods, then back regular foods. What you are actually doing is purging/detoxifying your body of those “bad" foods that can/will cause cravings.

Give it a try, and see what happens

Good Luck on your Journey !!

Tom

Thanks so much Vivian.  I just came back from back to back classes at my gym(2hours) workout.  I ate my cup of turkey chili, downed 4 sheets of graham crackers.  I am full and miserable now.  I don't know what it is.  I use my fitness pal.com to log my food.  I am going to loook at the website you mentioned.  Again, thanks.

Topic: MONDAY GRATEFUL POST
  Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you had a great weekend.   Mine was OK.    This morning I am going to have to go to the lab and have my yearly bloodwork done to make sure all my vitamin levels are where they are suspose to be.   I hate doing this.    I know that I am dehydrated.    They open in 20 minutes and I am going to call to see if I can drink some water to hydrate me so they will get the blood easier.     On a upbeat note.....I am grateful for insurance and grateful that I haven't had any real problems in my 6 yrs. since my surgery.    If you are pre op....IMHO.....if they have problems getting your blood pre op....that will probably remain the same post op.   I know of many others like myself who have had this problem both before and after WLS.    I am sitll SO grateful for my WLS and all the different surgeries for everyone to chose.    I am grateful for my husband, 3 sons and DIL.    Grateful for the life that has been given to me and for all the blessings that continue to come into my life.    Grateful for support groups, holdays ( although sometimes they are a challenge...I love them ).    Grateful for the 4 seasons. beautiful flowers and many many other things.     Grateful for Obesity Help and all the staff and people on the message boards daily.   Grateful for my Faith and answered prayers.     PLEASE share with us if you will what you are grateful for today.    Have a blessed day.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

To be honest.....I think when the holiday'**** we ALL have problems with one of the holiday foods or another.    Are you logging your food intake?    If not go to Dailyplate.com and start logging and measuring your food.     No matter which WLS you had done it is ALL about choices that we make and also the amount of food that we take in.   Many of us eat mindlessly and don't think it counts when no one sees us or even if we just have a bite.     It all counts in the end.   Also measure your food and I am sure if you do this along with daily exercise you will be successful.   Hope this makes sense and will help enourage you.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Hello all,
Hope you all are doing well.  I am having some difficulty staying on task and sticking to the plan.  I am exercising faithfully, at least 4-5 times a day and somedays twice a day.  I can't shake my desire for sweets.  I love them and really want to stop snacking on them.  I just don't want to screw up the positive changes that I have made.  Any help or suggestions would be great.  I need to just to stop the madness.    Thanks.

thank you so much, hislady.  i was noticing this board didn't have much movement.  and after i posted, i laughed because i saw the column to the right here.  i've since looked through those and it answered most of my questions.  good idea about pureeing the soup and thinning it.  i couldn't agree more about the sweetness.  i don't think i will have the need to taste artificially flavored chocolate anything for a very long time.  i made a couple posts on the lapband forum pre-corrective surgery,  not knowing that when i got out of surgery, i would have a realize band.  so thanks for letting me know that all band patients utilize the other board.  i appreciate it. :)

thank you so much, ashley.  and what an amazing weight loss you have achieved!  wow.  i was not really using my band to its potential because of that first bad fill after my pregnancy.  when it closed off entirely it just freaked me out and i never felt ready to again utilize it until just recently.  a lot of that had to do with caring for an infant, and now toddler.  i've lost a bit of weight and kept it off.  i'm hoping to get a new lease on weight loss.  however i am very saddened that the scale is not at least moving right now.  i lost eight pounds the week prior to surgery on the liver shrinking diet, and the scale has not moved since.  my stomach has never growled this much, and for two days there i didn't eat anything but clear liquid, then clear liquids with a little applesauce, and now yesterday and today full liquids.  i can't believe the scale has not moved in the slightest.  it would make all of this a little bit easier.  i know this, too, shall pass.  i really appreciate hearing that you moved forward as you were able to tolerate things.  i'm definitely going to try sleeping in my bed tonight.  thanks again!
