Hard to believe that the week is almost over. WOW How quicklly this year has passed by. LOL I personally have so very much in my life to be grateful for. Today I am grateful for my WLS and all the different surgeries available. Grateful for the maintance that I have had for the last 5 yrs and so grateful that I have had a successful WLS journey. Grateful for my family, friends, health, life, my Faith, answered prayers, the beautiful cooler weather along with many more things. Sometimes in life it is had to be grateful....especailly when things are not going the way that we want it to go in our lives. Still.....we shoudl be grateful everyday. Life never guaranteed us anything but we ALL have something everyday that we could be grateful for even if it is just being able to open our eyes everyday. PLEASE share with us if you will what you are grateful for today. Have a blessed day !!!

Hope everyone is having a good week. Mine has been good. I don't have to remind everyone of all the things in their lives that they have to be grateful for. Everyone IS or should be aware of that. As for my family......we are truly blessed. My 25 yr. old son is in Teen Challenge and has been there for 3 months and I can gratefully say that He is NOT the same person who entered those doors 3 months ago. For anyone who has a family member or friend suffering from substance abuse and are looking for a solution for that problem....try Teen Challenge. It is a AWESOME program that has over a 85% long term success rate. I am SO grateful for this program today. I saw 2 precious young men graduate from the program last night and it was awesome. I am so grateful today for this program. Grateful for my WLS, family, friends, life and all the choices for WLS today. Grateful for my Faith and answered prayers. PLEASE share with us if you will what you are grateful for today.

Our monthly meeting is this coming sunday Nov. 6th. It is important to get added support with the approaching holidays upon us. We will be faced with many food challenges to deal with. I will be sharing some holiday recipes with you for the upcoming holiday's this coming sunday. Please come and join in on all the fun. Our topic this month is Healthy Holiday Hints. Hope everyone is having a productive week. I know mine is going well. We ALL have so very much in our lives to be grateful for everyday. No matter how big or how small they may be. I am so grateful today for the invention of computers. If it not had been for their invention I wouldn't have the opportunity to communicate with you on a daily baisis. Grateful also for electricity, air conditioning, heating in the winters, grateful for all the modern inventions that our generation has that we take for granted. every day. Grateful for the same thing that I am grateful for everyday....family, friends. WLS. Faith & answered prayers. Grateful for Obesity Help and ALL the wonderful people I have met going to the conferences and on all the message boards. True, I don't know you. However as I stated.............I can almost guarantee that in 5 years you either will not have your band............or you will have had complications. I don't have to know you to state that. All I have to do is read the band forums everyday and see the absense of 5+ bandsters w/o complications. All I have to do is go to a WLS support group meeting and observe. All I have to do is take note of the bandsters/former bandsters that I know personally. It's sad but true. Why do you think that most bariatric surgeons are removing more bands than they put in? Why do you think many of them have quit doing the band???
If this sounds negative, that's b/c the band experience for MOST long term IS negative. Sad but true.
Support is NOT telling ppl what they want to hear. Support is caring enough to tell them the truth!!!
