Topic: RE: 2 week reboot diet for me!
Hello Anna,
Thank You! I am on day 4 and it's not been to bad. My family has eaten out twice and I went along and took my shake and drank it. By no way is it easy but it does work if you stay commited and do just as it says. This diet is designed to reboot your metabolism into fat burning mode. The goal is to dramatically change your intakewhich will force your body to use fat for fuel and decrease hunger. The reboot is the perfect setup to get you back on track with your postop diet. You will follow the reboot diet for 2 weeks then see your dietician to help tailor your postop diet to your individual needs and lifestyle.
Drink 64 ounces of non caloric fluids daily (less than 15 calories per 8 ounce.)
Exercise: Walk 30 minutes 3 times a week.

Breakfast: Atkins Shake
Snack: Pure Protein Bar/Supreme Protein Bar
Lunch:Atkins Shake
Snack:Pure Protein Bar/Supreme Protein Bar
Dinner:Atkins Shake

You can purchase shakes and bars from your Bariatric Program they have a list but I just use Walmart it's alot cheaper. I like the chocolate and strawberry shakes.
Good luck and keep in touch we can support one another.

Hello Kim
Just wanted to say you look wonderful. What a change you have gone thru. I havent been on much and was really suprised to see how slow this board has become. I am doing good. Still losing but very very slow. I am now down 40.2 pds. I put that .2 in because every little bit counts LOL. I had to have a complete unfill in Sept. due to some tightness issues. I go back Tuesday and Im hoping to get a small fill then. Its been a little tough as far as trying to stay on track but I just take it a day at a time. I am far from perfect but I have learned it doesnt do me any good to beat myself up over it. Just need to keep trying is all I can do. I'm like you I dont really try alot of different foods because I tend to get stuck on alot of them. Well have a good day and hope to see more action on this board soon Take care

Topic: 2 week reboot diet for me!
Hello OH Friends,
I visited with my surgeon Wednesday and I had gained 11 pounds over the past 6 months! I was so discouraged with myself and so worried what he would say to me, but you no what I shouldn't have been! I have the most sincere, understanding, caring surgeon anyone could ever ask for. He makes me feel important and gives me control. He asked me what I wanted to do and I told him I guess start all over from the beginning and that's when he told me about the 2 week reboot diet! I can do this! I have already dropped 6 pounds since Wednesday:) I have also been doing my 3 1/2 mile walk for my exercise. With any luck I will reach my goal and maintain it soon:)  I was 162 Wednesday and I'm 156 this morning and my goal is 135 - 140!Thanks for all your support My OH Friends!

Topic: FRIDAY GRATEFUL POSTI
Good Morning all you Beautiful people,

Hope everyone is ready for a great weekend.   I know I am ready for the weekend to arrive.    For those of you interested in how my son is doing ( wisdom teeth extraction without any pain meds ).....He was doing much better yesterday when I called to check on him.    That was really good news for me.   I was really worried when I called to check on him on wednesday and they told me that he had been in bed all day long.    I am SO grateful that he felt good enough to get up yesterday.    We all have so very much in our life to be grateful for.     It is so easy to look at our life and say.....I have NOTHING to be grateful for because life isn't treating us well at the moment.   But the truth is....there is ALWAYS something that we can be grateful for.    After all....if you are reading this....you could be grateful for your sight.    We are such a blessed people....too bad most of us ( me included at times ) seem to take life's blessings for granted.    Today I am so very grateful for my husband of almost 35 yrs....my 3 wonderful sons and my beautiful DIL.   Grateful for my fur babies and all the uncoditional love that they provide for me.     Grateful for my health, life. friends, my WLS and all the available WLS  for everyone to choose which is best for their life.    Grateful for a wonderful caring bariatric surgeon and his team that works with him.    Grateful for Obesity Help and all the wonderful staff and people on all the message boards.    Grateful for supporrt groups which keep us focused.    PLEASE share with us if you will what you are grateful for today.   Have a blessed weekend.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Topic: THURSDAY GRATEFUL POST
  Good Morning Everyone,

Prayers needed if you don't mind.    My middle son who is in a Christian recovery program for substance abuse ( pain pills ) had 2 of his wisdom teeth removed on tuesday.   He is in alot of pain and can take only OTC meds....also my 68 yr. old sister is a greeter at Walmart and fell yesterday gathering shopping carts in the parking lot and was in the ER for most of the day till 11 PM last night  ( they thought she had messed up disks in her back but it ended up she was in extreme pain due to arthritus ...but she did bruise her bones in her back. ).   My family would appreciate any and all prayers on their behalf.

We ALL have so very much in our lives to be grateful for.     Even the tinyest of things are blessings in our lives.    After all.....we can see the print on the paige or hear the birds chirping or feel the cool air of fall.    Those are some of the things that we take for granted.    We truely shouldn't take anything for granted......we have no guarantees that they won't be taken from us.    Today I am so grateful that my older sister wasn't hurt badly in the fall yesterday.     Grateful for the strength that my middle son is showing during this difficult timie in a recovery program.....recovering from 2 teeth being rermoved with no pain meds.   Grateful for all the blessings that the good Lord has sent my and my family's way.    Grateful for my Faith and answered prayers.    Grateful for my WLS and all the available WLS to chose.    Grateful for my eyes, ears, nose and all my body parts that help me to function from day to day.   Grateful for my 3 sons and Happy Birthday today to my baby son who is now 21 yrs. old.   Grateful for Obesity Help and all the wonderful precious people I have met here.    PLEASE share with us if you will what you are grateful for today.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Topic: RE: Realize Band.
 Hi Tom,

Thank you very much for the detailed reply, it was honestly what I was looking for.

I have been reading the forums and they are admittedly scaring me a bit.

I have been working on weight loss for years, I have managed to lose 60 on my own and am a regular exerciser, but I tend to yo yo diet/lose and regain.
This time I am ready to lose it all for good.

I was considering a sleeve but the doctor I am working with thinks I would be happier with the realize band.

Thanks again,

HC
