For a newbie you hit the nail right on the head :D

“Nothing I will ever eat will give me the feeling I get as when I lose weight” The views expressed are based on my own experiences - and should NOT BE FOLLOWED IN LIEU OF DOCTOR’S ADVICE/INSTRUCTIONS. Only your Doctor knows your condition, and make sure you talk to them before making any changes to your diet
Another reason you may not be losing weight is because you are eating (a) too much (b) not enough. I know it sounds a little contradictory, and I will try to explain.
Too much: While we need to make sure we hit our protein requirements (60-80 grams, or whatever your Doctor told you), we need to make sure the carbs, calories, etc are “acceptable". Remember, you don’t want to make your 80 grams of protein by eating 4 gallons of ice cream or a starchy carb.
Not enough: Again, make sure you are meeting your daily protein requirements. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO WEIGHT LOSS. The body is a marvelous machine, and it will protect itself. If one doesn’t eat enough, the body’s metabolism will slow down - in order to keep itself functioning. If a person intake is less then what it expels, the body will start to “store" food.
Make sure you are hitting your numbers.

Rapid weight loss can also lead to gall bladder problems. Please talk to your surgeon about that. Most people with the band don't lose fast enough to worry too much about it, but you're on a real roll!
As my surgeon told me, sometimes the better you do, the more your body punishes you (hair loss, gall bladder, saggy skin, etc.).
As for fills, no, you don't need fills forever. Some people need more than others, and some need adjustments here and there, but it's not continuous fills. As for how you know...I'll let the veteran bandsters take that one. I have an idea, but I am still REALLY new, so my answers are based on research or friend's experiences, not personal experience myself.
Good luck, and again, congrats!

Hoping that you have some information for me. I am 8 monthss out and lost 96. I feel like my hair is thinning. Did anyone else have this problem? How bad did it get? Did it come back?
Also- I was under the impression that I needed to get fills forever. I just found out that this is not so. I never feel overly full but....can eat 8 oz if I let myself(which I don't). I do have a slight problem if I don't chew REALLY well. How do I know when I need a fill?
I have WAY too much to be grateful for today. LOL Life doesn't guarantee us anything at all. We ALL have so very much in our lives to be grateful for. If you are reading this and say I have nothing at all to be grateful for. Life is bad for me.....just think....yes you do have something to be grateful for....you have EYES and you are reading this.....and a brain. That is something that you can be grateful for. Also you have a computer or the use of one. That is another thing for you to be grateful for. Ok enough of my preaching to you about not having anything to be grateful for. LOL I am SO grateful today for all the good things happening in my life right now. I have been blessed beyond measures with where my family is right now. My 25 yr old son is in a recovery program for drug addiction and he is totally a different person today after just 2 weeks there......I have a home and all that I need and that is enough. I have a family that loves me and supports me in what I do. I am well and happy almost 6 yrs. after my WLS with no major issues. I am grateful for my life, church,. my Faith and answered prayers. Grateful for all my wonderful fur babies ( we are way out numbered in my house LOL ). Grateful for the internet and my computer although it is old. Grateful for all that life throws my way and knowing that I CAN handle just about anything that comes my way. Grateful that I am a strong woman and that I have a tender and caring heart. Grateful for OH and that I am going to the OH Conference in New Orleans, La. Sept 9-10 ( in 2 weeks ). Still time for you to get your ticket and go. Hope to meet you there. PLEASE share with us what you are grateful for today. Have a blessed weekend !!!!
