I'm getting incredibly nervous. I was fine til I looked at the calendar today and realized that it is only 19 days away. Its been a long year, filled with quitting smoking, giving up most of my favorite things, and changing my lifestyle. I'm more than ready to make this change, but it is scary, I've never had any type of surgery before minor or major.

Can't believe that the weekend is already here. Seems like we just left it behind us. LOL Ok lets get this post started. We ALL know that this is a post to share what you are grateful for today. As I think today.....I am SO grateful for all the wonderful people who I have met ( both in person and online ) here on Obesity Help. There are some really amazing people on these message boards and for them I am TRULY grateful to have met and now call them my friends. I am grateful for Obesity Help and all the information available for everyone to see here. I am so grateful that my surgeon pointed out this website over 6 yrs ago. Grateful for my WLS and all the choices of WLS for us to chose. Grateful for my family and friends. Grateful for second chances.....for us and for others. Addiction is VERY real.....and lets face facts....we are ALL food addicts. I am grateful that my 25 yr. old son is in a recovery program now for his addiction to drugs. He told me that I did NOT understand addiction. LOL That is SO funny. I told him....you can live without drugs...but not without FOOD. He will be in this recovery program ( living there ) for 12 - 18 months. I know he will come out a different person and for that I am truly grateful. Sorry to have gotten off on this. He is just constantly in my thoughts. Grateful for you wonderful people here and your prayers. Grateful for the upcoming OH Conference in New Orleans, La. Can't wait for it.....less than a month away now !!! Have a blessed and wonderful day and PLEASE share with us what you are grateful for today.

It doesn't matter what operation you have, know we'll be here for you.
When it comes to protein shakes, my suggestion: take the plunge and test them NOW!! Every person's taste is different, and no 2 people will agree brand X is the best. Plus with all the different flavor's, brand X vanilla may be good, but brand Y chocolate is heavenly.
Protein drinks should be: between 20 and 30 grams of protein per serving (25 is recommended), contain less than 150 calories (110 recommended) contain less than 10 grams of carbohydrates (5 is recommended) (your Doctor/Nutritionist may have different rules – so follow their recommendation).
As for which BAND is best, honestly it's not the BAND that causes success or failure, but the person and the Doctor's guidance.
Good luck, and know we're here for you!!

Is this a very busy forum? I have been looking for a place where I can discover more people working the Realize band. Anyone know if it is very different than those Lap people? My friend just got the latter, my doc does the former, so I guess we will have a little competition.
Anyway, I'd love to know some of your favorite protein shakes/bars and if there is one food that just doesn't do well for you post band....let me know.
