Thanks everyone, the surgery was a success with some minor complications.  I knew there would be issues due to the scaring that I have from previous surgeries.  My surgery took over 4 hours, he had to use 6 incisions to get the scaring out and I had a hernia, which the surgeon repaired.  It was quiet painful, but I think that is mostly due to the gas they fill your belly with.  I am still having some issues getting up and down.  Sleeping on my back is a chore too, but I am doing it.  I came home Tuesday night and I weighted myself, I was at  219.8, obviously weight gain from swelling.  I am now down to 215.6, and I am looking forward to seeing actually weight loss not swelling loss. :)

I noticed it is so different with the lap band, as the liquid doesn't back up like it did when I first had my RNY.  I like the full feeling though, it has been forever since I have felt that way!  The woman at the office said they don't do the first fill until a month out, which I thought was a bit odd, but I am okay with that.  I feel restriction now because the liquids actually stay in my stomach instead of floating through.  I can't imagine how it will feel with more restriction.

I am excited and looking forward to each new day.

Thank you for the positive feedback!

Topic: THURSDAY GRATEFUL POST
  Good Morning Everyone.

Hope everyone is having a great week and is looking forward to the weekend.    I know my week ( thank God ) seems to be getting better daily.    My son is finally getting back to his old self but is still in need of prayer.   Hopefully by next week all this nightmare will be behind us.     Thank you everyone who has kept my family in your prayers.    As we ALL know by the title of this post....it is a daily Grateful Post.    Even though right now you may be saying......"I have NOTHING to be grateful for."   Just think about that statement.   YES you DO !!!  You can see and read with your eyes.   That alone is one thing you can be grateful for.   You are live and breathing.   That too is another thing.    Anyway  what I am getting at is.....no matter how bad things are in your life.....there is ALWAYS something no matter how small it is to be grateful for in your life everyday.    After all...we were never promised a "perfect life",    PLEASE share with us today what you are grateful for.    Today I am so grateful that my son is getting better.    I was SO very worried about him and with what he is now going through.    But with lots of prayer and love he is doing pretty well.    Today I am also grateful for my Faith in a higher power and all the strength that I get from that.....for prayers being answered and for my family.    Grateful for my WLS and all the WLS available today for the choosing.     Grateful for my life, husband and his job,.....my 3 sons.......my life as a smaller person and all my OH Friends.   Grateful for Eric Klein started Obesity Help.    Grateful for the upcoming OH  New Orleans, La. Conference Sept. 9 - 10.   Hope everyone is going.   It should be amazing !!!   Have a blessed day and please don't forget to share what you are grateful for.

You live in my neck of the woods.   PLEASE don't do this to yourself.    Don't set yourself up for failure so close to your surgery date.    Trust me...it will be OK.     When you get really hungry.....do some fluids and lots of them.   When you fill your stomach up with  water, tea...etc. you won't feel those dreaded "hunger pains".    Take your vitamins daily.   That is very important no matter which WLS you have.    You will be OK.    If you are looking for a support group to attend.   I am a OH Support Group Leader and my meetings are in Keller.   I live in N. Richland Hills.    If you need support and want to talk to me one on one....let me know and I will give you my phone number.   Keep your head up....you will be OK.   LOTS of support here on OH.

Topic: Hard day
My surgery is July 26th and im struggling with the pre-op diet. Today was day 3 and the first 2 days were easy now today I've been starving i've gotten all my protein plus some and i've messed up and I ate a salad with tomatos, cucumbers and with organic fat free dressing. That didn't satisfy me so I grabbed a slice of low fat cheese. Now im munching on another cucumber. All good things but I'm just so mad that I'm being weak, and speaking of weak I took a multi-vitamin to get my iron, but im shaking, and can barley lift my head up im so weak. I feel at any moment I could hit the floor. I've stayed in bed most of the day. I'm so ready to go to a drive thru.

Topic: Diet ideas for vegetarian and gallbladder problems
This is my first post, but I've read many of the others on the board.  I was banded June 14, and I had my first fill (3.4cc) July 12 (last week).

I just wanted to share that only two weeks after surgery I started having symptoms that turned out to be my gallbladder , and I had it taken out just three weeks after surgery.

I've seen people talking about chest, back, and shoulder pain.  If that is a problem for you, please ask your doctor about your gallbladder!

Apparently rapid weight loss will trigger gallbladder problems.

------

I would love tips and sample daily diets.  I am having trouble finding foods and recipes that fit the band lifestyle but suit my tastes.  I don't like eating meat very often, and I can only stand so much tofu...

------

I lost 16 of my 25 pounds in the two weeks before surgery.  Nine pounds in five weeks since surgery is NOT suiting me!  Considering doing liquids again to speed up loss and break through the 200lb mark, but I think my expectations may be too high?

I do exercise 30 minutes almost every day, but the gallbladder surgery stalled me on that for about 10-14 days, which probably contributed to the slow loss.

Thanks!
