I would say it is normal to be nervous about it. Have you been on a cruise before? I actually LOST weight on the 2 I've been on and wasn't banded! I lost 2-3 pounds on my 5 and 6 day trips. The reason? I'm a WHOLE lot more active than I am even working and moderately exercising. Plus...theres SOOOO many healthy options at dinner(maybe not so much at lunch especially if you're going on a Carnival ship) but honestly, I was so busy and having so much fun I didn't even care to eat half the time. Just keep yourself occupied, there's PLENTY you can do. Maybe just plan for your goal to be maintaining during that time rather than losing. Stay active and make healthy choices 99% of the time...if you want dessert, have a few bites and then be done. Honestly by the time you reach that course at dinner you probably wont be able to handle more than that. You have done SO well since surgery, I have no doubt that this trip will be any different. Just focus on spending time with your family and making as many memories as humanly possible!! I hope you have a blast and can't wait to hear how it went when you get back!!!

Thank you!
Melissa
We all know that we are a blessed people !!!! We have independence from our bondage of being a morbidly obese person ( or we are seeking independence from a unhealthy lifestyle if pre op ). Independence Day is a very special day to us all in one way or another. I am SO GRATEFUL today not only for America's Independence but also for my independence from my former lifestyle. Cathy Wilson at OH says it wonderfully......".Liberty is the condition of being free from restriction or control; the condition of being free from confinement; and, the right and power to act, believe or express one’s self in a manner of one’s own choosing. Through your success from weight loss surgery, you are free to live on your own terms without the emotional and physical prison of being morbidly obese."
I am so grateful today for my family, friends, WLS, Independence in America and independence from the bonds of food in my life. PLEASE share with us what you are Grateful for today. I am also grateful for you. Please stay hydrated in the heat.

My Realize band and my hard work has done more than I ever dreamed.
My stats-
Before surgery 354 lbs BMI 54 size 30
After 204 lbs BMI 31 size 14 lost 61 inches (which is more than 5 feet)
I might have to exercise 9+ hours a week but it's soooo worth it. Not only do I look better but more importantly I feel better physically and mentally.
Before picture...look at me I barely fit in the booth. My boobs are spilling out onto the table. I hated having my picture takien but tried to act like I didn't mind.
After... me looking all patriotic in my cute Hello Kitty t-shirt.
Hope everyone has had a great week and is really for this holiday weekend coming up. As you all know or should know this is a grateful post where we list what we are grateful for. Every morning when I do this I along with many others focus on all the things that I have in my life that I take for granted. For taking those things for granted I am truly sorry. Life does not guarantee us anything. Gratefulness is something that we should express on a daily basis IMHO. PLEASE share with us if you want to what you are grateful for today. Today I am SO grateful for my WLS. I am almost 6 yrs. post op RNY. I originally lost 140 lbs. I had put on ( and I am ashamed to admit it.....30 lbs from my very lowest). Now that being said....STRESS was one of the major issues that put weight on me. I am STILL not stress free.....trust me on this one !!! But I began to re-focus a couple of weeks ago and I have to date lost 12 of those thirty pounds. I have been making wise choices....keeping my protein levels HIGH (about 90 - 100+ mg. protein a day ) and tried to exercise daily. I am so thrilled now to think about hopefully getting most of that re-gain off. I feel better already ( mentally and physically ). So even little things like that are something to be so grateful for. PLEASE share with us what you are grateful for today. Have a wonderful holiday weekend.
