I got two more medicines halved this week. I had my physical Tuesday, and my doctor said she would do this if the bloodwork was OK -- and it was. In fact, my blood sugar was great! (It was 146 last May, 2010, and more recently has been in the 120 range -- it is now 96! And the AC1, which measures blood sugar over the last three months, was 6.0 -- and they want it under 6.1. My doctor was very proud.) So she lowered my dosage of Metformin, for the diabetes, from two a day to one. She will eventually take me off of it, but she said it could help with weight loss, so would keep me on it a while longer.
My cholesterol was way better, too. So she changed me from one 40 mg a day to 20, and I can just split them until I need a new prescription.
And I think I already mentioned, she told me to start easing off the Nexium (for acid reflux), going from one a day to one every other day. If I don't experience any acid reflux symptoms, I would later go from one every third day.
So this means that my blood pressure medicine has been halved, as has been my diabetes medicine, my cholesterol medicine, and my acid reflux medicine (all because of the weight loss), and I was taken off the heart medicine and I likely will be taken off the Pradaxa at my next cardiologist visit (both because of an ablation last year). Yeaaa!

Brittney, it is perfectly normal to be nervous. I prayed of course and thought about the changes I was going to make in my life to make the journey successful. Just have thoughts thoughts and plan. Prayer is powerful. I did something fun everyday that was out of the norm for me to do. For example, I took a walk through the downtown area of my small town. I played a lot with my new puppy. I also planned what I was going to do with my old wardrobe. LOL. Most importantly I stayed on the message boards and talked to others. Take deep breaths and try and relax. Good luck Brittney.

This is some interesting reading and explains a lot about why we all respond to WLS differently...

Topic: RE: 9.25cc of fluid and I can still eat!!!
I have 9.8 ccs. Although, I can eat more...a lot more. But I feel satisfied with the amount on my plate, but if you give me two cups I will and can eat 2 cups. For me it's not the feeling of fullness, it's more like the feeling of not feeling hungry anymore. That constant need to feed my face. There are occasions where I can't eat anymore even if I wanted to...but on those occasions I feel way toooo full and uncomfortable. I can tell you that the difference between the feeling I have now and what I was feeling was .2 ccs. Yep, just that little amount made all the difference in the world. So don't lose faith it could be your next fill.

Yes I am back from Vegas. It was ok, not really my scene. It wasn't too hot, but the last 3 days it hit past 100.
Good Luck on your Journey !!
