 Morning Kim,

I know I am not a bandster but a plateau is a plateau no matter what WLS you had.   We ALL hit them and have to deal with them.    You have to "shake things up" so to speak or "trick" your body sometimes to get off them.    Oh and Congratulations on your 40 lb. loss !!!  YOU GO GIRL !!!   Ok....now to subject at hand.    Change up things that you are eating......increase your exercise ( drop the calories for a couple of days then increase them....that works for me to shock the body into losing again ).   I know....we ALL know that part.   I would opt for trying to do high protein foods and maybe even increase your protein intake.   I have a plateau buster's diet that I will look up and post on this board.  It was going around the message boards about 6 yrs. ago and it does work.    You have a great day and keep on rocking that realize band !!!

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Topic: TUESDAY GRATEFUL POST
  Good Morning Everyone,

I know that we are going to have a great day today.     We got RAIN early this AM.    I am so thrilled that I don't have to go give my outside plants a drink of water this AM.    We even have a chance of rain in the forecast for later on today also.   We have had many many weeks of no rain....that is why I am so happy about the rain.    This is a post to remind everyone that we ALL have so much in our lives to be grateful for......no matter how large or how small it is.   It doesn't have to be a "light bulb" moment so to speak....just even the fact of waking up out of sleep to a new day.....that is something to be grateful for since none of us have any guarantees of tomorrow.     PLEASE feel free to share with us if you want what you are grateful for today.   You can share a little or alot.   Today I am grateful for the rain.    Here in Texas it has been so very dry that we have had fires that have destroyed lots of people's homes.    So today I am most grateful for the rain.    I have many more things to be grateful for too....family, friends, WLS, OH and all the replies that are put on this post.   Have a blessed day ,

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Topic: Question about my plateau-ing
I was just wondering, so I am putting it out there for anyone to reply to...
Last time I tried to lose weight, I lost 40 pounds and plateau-ed. Now, even after WLS I am doing the same thing at the same amount of weight loss. Is it possible this is as low in weight as I am gonna get? (I hope not, I still have 20+ pounds to lose before I am at the goal my doc set for me.)
Any thoughts, comments, etc. are welcome and encouraged. Anyone experience this. I know we "talked about" bumping up the exercise and I think I have to a certain degree. I am trying to eat right. Although, you guys were right. My fill did not fill me much after a week or so...
OK now I am rambling..so I will close with..
I am glad I am a Bandster on the Losers' Bench.

I am currently wearing my wedding band/engagement ring on a chain around my neck cuz it is too big. But I am gonna wait till I am at my goal for awhile before I get it made smaller. The last time I weighed my goal weight my ring size was a 4.5..now I wear a 7 or 8 I can not remember. I know it a great feeling that noit only clothes are getting too big but even fingers are getting smaller!! Congrats, kimkeever!!

thanks so much to all of you for your support!  tom, yes, i do need to talk to the dr, unfortunately, he only sees patients on thursdays, and, they apparently didn't care about seeing me last thursday (knowing that i would be out of town and unable to come in for a month - because i told his nurse that in my email to her), so, it's unfortunately going to have to wait until july 14th...i will be demanding an appt that day.  also, any bariatric surgeon is a minimum of 2 hrs from me.  i picked this dr because of my mother-in-law's experience with him, and she's a nurse!   oy....  also, i understand what you're saying about only the dr knowing what i'm doing wrong...however...what i know that i am doing wrong is that i am able too eat too much.  and that is what i hoped/thought/expected the band would help me with.  if i could push myself away from the table sooner i wouldn't be at the weight i was.  my six month diet forced me to become active and exercise.  it also forced me to make better choices.  which i still do both of today.  but if you could've seen the salad and 6 oz chicken breast i consumed this evening, you wouldn't believe me if i told you that i had wls.   and, i ate 75% of the chicken first.  i don't know how you would actually measure the romaine, but if i had to guess, there was at least 4 cups of it.  and it was rather leafy, even though i did cut it down.  shouldn't something like that get stuck?  i mean, i'm not wanting it to get stuck, but i'm not chewing it to a pulp either....    anyway, this is what i'm dealing with.  i'm not eating 3/4 of a pizza anymore, which is definitely a good thing, but, in addition to my super-sized salad today, i've also had eggs, strawberries, apples, carrots, celery, almonds, tomatoes, red & green peppers, a hamburger patty with swiss & mushrooms, and chips & salsa.  now i know the chips are not a good choice.  but the fresh salsa was so dang good!  lol..  now, why can i eat all of this?  i have talked to the nurse.  i have talked to the dietitian.  the only thing the dr seems to be looking at is the scale.  and after my first 2cc fill and gaining 2 pounds in two weeks, he gave me 5cc more.  now, i've not gained weight since, i've actually lost about 7 in three weeks.  but as you can see, i can eat.  and that is my problem.....  sigh.....

I like that a lot. And it's so fitting for what I'm going through right now! I just got done writing down my new goals, and I feel like they're set in stone
