So give me the gods honest truth on how you feel about your surgery, the pains, weightloss, eating issues, etc.
I thank you so much in advance for you patience with all my questions.

I am glad that your surgery went well. A great support system is wonderful to have. God is the ultimate support. Good luck to you. I look forward to keeping up with your weightloss.
I just had my surgery this morning. I am home and recovering. Today actually begins my wonderful journey. I have made much prep for this journey and built a great support system, with the help of family & friends, OH, doctors, support groups, and God. Thank you to all here on OH that help with this.
Chuck :-)
I'm not really a good example because I would plateau constanly in the beginning. Not untill I started to workout did I have a consistent weight loss. Now that I have lost 150 lbs, I am plateauing more often now. Unfortunately the closer you get to your goal weight the harder it is to lose. What I do when I haven't lost weight one week...I increase the intensity of my workout. That usually kicks the weight loss back into gear the next week. In your case I would make sure you are following the proper diet and if your protein and fluid intake are good then look at your activity level. Are you working out...if not start. If you are working out then change up your workout and/or increase the intensity or time you workout.
Good luck.
Know you'll never ever disappoint me.
But bottom line, does it really matter if you do or don't?
Neither I, nor anyone else, isn't the person you need to please. The only person is yourself.
So as long as you don't feel you've disappointed yourself, then nothing else matters.
Again, know I will always be here for you!!

Stacy,
I echo what everyone already said. While family and friends are very important in our lives, the bottom line is we need to do this for us, and no one else. Until you’ve walked in our shoes, and wore our pants/dresses, you can’t imagine or truly appreciate WHY we are doing this.
Many times a loved one will request us not to be successful, because they are scared. Many times for our health, but also because they are insecure. They are afraid the person they grew to love will change, and that the person they grew to love will leave them. Not saying this is the case with your husband, but it could be. Maybe reassuring him that after 27 years you’re not going anywhere, no matter how small you become.
I also strongly suggest you two go to a support group, or two, and discuss this openly with folks who are taking the same journey. Maybe one he realizes why you are so focused, and knows others have taken similar paths, he will be less inclined to ask you to stop your weight loss.
If you don’t have a support group, then maybe visiting with your: Bariatric Doctor; Nutritionist and/or Psych Doctor will help. (Note: many insurance companies permit a certain amount of follow-up appointments with your Nutritionist and/or Psych Doctor – so if money is an issue, check that).
Know we’re here for you, and have all the support you’ll ever need!!!

Stalls/plateaus are natural part of weight loss. It seems the body “catches on" to what we have been doing, and holds onto everything. After a while, the lost restarts and things go well.
However, stalls/plateaus can also because by eating (a) too much (b) not enough. I know it sounds a little contradictory, and I will try to explain.
Too much: While we need to make sure we hit our protein requirements (60-80 grams, or whatever your Doctor told you), we need to make sure the carbs, calories, etc are “acceptable". Remember, you don’t want to make your 80 grams of protein by eating 4 gallons of ice cream or a starchy carb.
Not enough: Again, make sure you are meeting your daily protein requirements. THIS IS IMPORTANT TO WEIGHT LOSS. The body is a marvelous machine, and it will protect itself. If one doesn’t eat enough, the body’s metabolism will slow down - in order to keep itself functioning. If a person intake is less then what it expels, the body will start to “store" food.

This is a reminder that this coming sunday will be our monthly meeting. I know it is difficult to work this in because now it IS summer....but remember YOU are important and so is this WL journey that you are on. Summer time is NOT the time to take off from your journey. SO please plan on attending this sunday. PLEASE RSVP me if you plan on coming so I will have enough materials printed. Have a blessed day and rest of the week,
Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian
