It does usually take more than one fill to get some restriction but like Maria said some of us never do. I wish you luck!

Dieting works. You may never be able to depend on the band for weight loss. A lot of bandsters NEVER reach restriction! :-( So just do high protein, lower sugar, carb and fat.

Good luck!

 Hello forum,
It's been six weeks since surgery and I feel amazing. Although, I have not lost as much weight as I had hoped for I am still optimistic. I am eating right and exercise regularly. I had my first fill on 01/31/2012 but I feel that I am at a stand still I have not lost an ounce since then. I continue to eat the same amount of food and keeping my liquids (water) separate from my meals; and the number on the scale does not want to budge. not even an ounce. I have no restriction I still eat 3 ounces and perhaps maybe 4 ounces but no more, and nothing. One of the things that I am not happy about is that scale. My scale has been my jail for many years and I wish I can break free. The one time that I threw my scale, I gained 45 lbs. Now I know that I must have a scale and I use it often. but I just want to throw it away. What can I do to keep dropping lbs?

Topic: TUESDAY GRATEFUL POSTS
  Good Morning My OH Friends,

Hope everyone is having a good week so far.    If you have never read this post before...it is a positive post in which you can voice what you are grateful for in life on this day.    I am trying this year to only do one thing a day....it is really very hard to do though sometimes.    Today I am so grateful for my computer.    Sometimes it doesn't work the best...my back light is going out so sometimes I have to wait for it to come back on so I can see the screen but it always comes back on.  Grateful to talk you the ones *****spond on a somewhat daily basis.    We ALL have so much to be grateful for in life and most we take for granted such as opening our eyes.... breathing on our own without the help of a machine....that our brain works.....etc.     As you can see...sometimes I have problems with just one.   LOL   Life offers us NO guarantees of tomorrow so I am grateful for today.    PLEASE share with us if you will what you are grateful for today.    Have a blessed day.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

It's really a good thing that they are having you go thru all this in the long run. So many people come here and don't have a clue what they are doing. Use the time to practice eating slowly, chewing and taking bites the size of an M&M. The more that is already a habit the easier it is. Also practice eating without drinking until a half hour after you eat. You'll be there before you know it!

Congratulations Emily.  I don't believe you will be disappointed.  March is just around the corner.  Good luck and keep us informed about your progress.
