If you have the sleeve, the DS is not a revision per se  but the second step in a two-step approach.  I recommend you do a Google search on the words "DS facts" as the current OH TOS will not permit me to hyperlink you to the site which would be most helpful.

In Tennessee, the recommended DS surgeons are:

Hugh L. Houston, MD *
Centennial Centre for the Treatment of Obesity
2200 Murphy Ave
Nashville, TN 37203
Phone: 615-342-1231
Fax: 615-342-1814

Albert T. Spaw, MD, FACS

I was banded in Mexico.  Duke is doing my revision. They didn't care where I had it.

Many practices will charge you a set-up fee, I was quoted $500 at Dr. Enoch's office in Cary, NC.  That would cover my "transfer" ... I ended up at Duke and they didn't care or charge me anything.

Hi, if you  dont mind  me  asking  what  are  you  revising  to? I  visited the Duke  website simply  because  I  wanted  to  revise  to  the  DS  , but to my understanding according to  the site  they only perform 2 types of revisions surgeries Stomanyx and the  ROSE is  this correct? How long was it  from  your  initial  consult until  you  got approved and got your  date? Dr Enoch was my  original surgeon and I started seeing Dr. Ng who  only offers a few revision options which are the sleeve, BOB and RNY and I really wasnt comfortable with the way he was talking about these surgeries.  So I  called Duke  who  supposedly offers the  DS . Thanks  for  you help

The Duke website is a bit misleading with regards to revisions. Those are special surgeries they offer.
I am having Lapband to RNY.
They also do DS and other revision surgeries.

I would go to one of the seminars and then you can ask them in person. OR... call Taylor Bender at 1-919-470-7002. She is in charge of new applications and can tell you which surgeons do which revisions, etc.  I would still recommend a seminar. The online video does not go into the revisions much.

I turned in my online application on July 5th.
They called to give me a consult date on July 13th
My consult was scheduled for July 27th.  I met with psych, nutrition and Dr. Yoo on the same day.
I was sent to Durham regional the following week for an upper GI.  My family doc had already done labs, EKG - then they forgot I needed a chest x-ray.  So I did that too.
I talked to the scheduler on August 9th and my papers were complete.  She gave me Dr. Yoo's first available surgery date of 9-14.
They have NOT submitted me to insurance yet.  They said next week.  They have a lot to do.
My preop appt is 8/31.

Hope this helps!!

Sherrie
