For those that had both the first wls and revision wls done laproscopicaly I was just curious if the surgeon used the same incision sites as the first time or made new ones?

Hello Snowbutterfly. I am scheduled for revision April 11th and my surgeon said he will use my previous VSG incisions however I will have one additional one.

Good to know! I totally forgot to ask. My surgeons admin staff gave me a tentative date of april 17th but I'm going to try closer to the beginning of may so that I can build pto.

Yeah I wish I had more PTO too. Can you apply for leave donation or telework some?

I wish! My director is dead set against working from home and I don't believe leave can be donated at my job. But by may I will have enough pto for 1 week. Which is perfect because after the first week I can use the company short term disability. That only pays 60% but its better then nothing.

Well happy waiting til May gives you a week of 100% of your salary. Wish you had more options that gave you at least 1 more week off.

I was able to not use PTO and instead use FMLA and short term disability. Do you have short term Disabilty?

Yes they use the same sites.I had mine done in November 2016.Takes a little longer because of scar tissue but at least no new scars.

I was ok with new incisions but I'm so much happier with no new scars. Did you have a harder time healing ?

I have all new incisions. but honestly it is hard to find the old ones (with the exception of the port scar from my lap band). on the port scar he wouldn't have been able to use the same way since it had migrated. I actually have an extra incision from where he cut where the port was supposed to be and it wasn't there.
