That sounds great!! I'm not sure what date I'm going to go with yet. I have a family vacation coming up and then childcare issues in August. I'm sure I can make something work in August though so hopefully there is a date available.
I see that you're in MN. I am also getting my revision done in MN. Do you mind telling me what clinic/surgeon you're using?

Good deal, I'm very confident in my original surgeon and that he will have options for the best outcome. As I would like to have a baby in the next 2 years as well.. and I know my body won't carry a baby in the condition it has been in. I've had the balloon endoscopy 2 times this year already, and he's going to do it again. Yay! lol can't wait! Hope your appt goes well!

Have you tried calling your insurance company to verify if they received the paperwork yet? I called mine about every other day requesting a status.
Hopefully the insurance specialist did what she was supposed to do the second time around. Good luck!

Congrats on your approval! I hope you get your surgery date soon.
I'm getting a Band to Bypass revision on 8/16 so we will likely be surgery buddies!

Appt is the 26th. See what they offer. There are several Drs in town that do revisions and then my original surgeon. Surely at least one of them will have an acceptable option.
Are they planning a double balloon endoscopy for you.?
I have had them checked in the past and they were ok. But I do have lab work to do in a couple weeks to check all my vitamin & mineral levels. Waiting a little while after I've had two blood transfusions to do all the testing. What brand of vitamins do you like best??

Yes, I've been on prescription reflux meds and have just added Pepcid two times a day as well, also Carafate liquid. It's not worth going off the dexilent.. I've talked to a couple different hematologist and my gastric Drs agree the amount of malabsorption caused by the drug isn't enough to make a big difference. Actually, one of my old drs took me off reflux meds because they thought it was why I couldn't absorb iron- when I'll need iron infusions for the rest of my life because I can't absorb enough iron from food or pills- regardless of reflux meds. 2 weeks later I was in the hospital with a GI bleed. Saw my gastric dr today and he wants to do a endoscopy on me in 3 weeks to check if the ulcer has healed, and to check everything out from a bariatric standpoint. My drs. are thinking I'll need to do a revision but want to check everything out before going under for surgery. So at least the ball is rolling. Just wish things could move along faster. When do you see your dr?

Do they have you on reflux meds? I am on 60 mg of dexilent and 20 mg of pepcid x2 daily. The dexilent has warnings on it that it increases malabsorption of vitamins and minerals. Would really like to get off that one.
I am so Happy for you! I am still dealing with the insurance specialist at my surgeons office , she is absolutely worse then the insurance company . On June 4 she told me she had to mail mine because my file was so large, she supposedly didn't have a big enough envelope but assured me she would pick one up and mail it the next day , well lets just say I am not holding my breath . I called today and spoke to her assistant and she had no idea what was going on . I am sure its still sitting on her desk .
