In other pictures I have on makeup and have PhotoShopped out the skin mess.

If PrepH worked, I wouldn't be throwin' down $7k, ya know?

Preparation H used to contain "live yeast cell derivative", a cell-free extract high in the enzyme superoxide dismutase (an antioxidant).  In the US, it was removed from the formulation back in the 1990's, and may have been the reason it gained notoriety for cosmetic use.  I have no idea if LYCD has any benefit as a cosmeceutical , but Canadian Prep H still contains the stuff!

I love the way you steamroller over the issue of superficial beauty by boldly showing us how you look first thing after rolling out of bed!  I could never ever do that, and I never considered myself vain, but I guess I'm just like everyone else!

I'm a pretty big fan of reality most of the time. My reality at the moment just looks like **** I think people have a right to know what they're getting into potentially, before they enlist...and mine is one potential outcome, no?

I'm not vain, but I do have issues about geometry and aesthetics-- it's my job, y'know. I liked my fat body just fine. It was round, firm and fully packed. It's this lumpy **** I could do without.

BTW: I am actually a proponent of Proposition 9.2-- it's based in my theory that no one should be married because it's all a horrendous waste of time. I *could* have a spouse, but I won't: I have a Sig Ot jus' like you do!

I would like the opportunity to broker that "priveledge" away to someone who'd like it, but so far it ain't happenin'.

I so know how you feel I was fine when I was at goal 145 no saggys nothing ...I have always had good face skin etc ...now that I am under 120 I really have the saggy issues as my grand daughter notes every single morning when she jumps in my bed and says grammy has a turkey gobler..and lets not even get started on the arms ...I HATE THOSE ..I could have PS done but in all honesty OMG the thought of going under again makes me sick ...I have been dealing with my best friends boob issue all week and came very close to loosing her just because she wanted to fix her hooters...she lost a great deal of weight also and the girls went way south..she now has an infection that has attacked her heart ...and she is in ICU so I have a fear of going under or even getting a cut right now hahahah so I think I will keep my face and other body parts the way they are ...by the way YOU look great ...

I'm just alittle further out than you are and I was a light weight...But I have some good news. You do have a certain amount of bounce back in the form of repositioning.

I am nearly exactly the same weight (125 pounds) but pants I used to be able to wear six months ago, I can not wear anymore because my hips got alittle bigger and my waist got alitle smaller...So your weight redistributes. I'm pretty sure it does this on your face too. Maybe I'm wrong.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Dawn-- I *have* bounced back-- you should have seen it before!!! I lost all the weight in my face very early on, though-- so it's about done doing what it's going to do, we think.

I am so new to this group that I haven't had surgery yet but I've read the posts and am wondering if all the pre-op info and nutritist info I've received about "more protein, more water" isn't going to make me look better but make me look worse.  No way am I going to not have the surgery.  I want it.  I need it.  But is the saggy skin issue a rule rather than the exception?  Is it a matter of age/weight?  I'd like some guidance here just so I know what to expect (other than the loss of breast size) since my weight is pretty evenly distributed.

Saggy skin is largely a confluence of the following:

1) How large you were (I had a BMI of almost 62-- I was very big)
2) How long you were large (in my case over 300 pounds for 15 years)
3) How old you are (younger skin has more elastin)
4) How good your skin is to start with-- hereditarily

I've lost 208 pounds...there was really no chance of me surviving that unscathed!

1.  BMI is right at 40, plan is to loose 100# and I'll reassess at that point.
2.  been this size give or take 10-15 lbs for 15 years
3.  51  years
4.  My Mom was a "hand model" for print ads and had perfect skin when she passed away at 80.  I got some of Mom's skin traits (slight olive tone) but the texture seems more like my Dad's who had your basic sort of "farmer's" skin so who knows what it really should have looked like!

Anyway I'm good to my skin, moderate stretch marks in the usual places, minimal wrinkles, definitely look younger for my age (Mom's genes).  Surgery is not due to the usual medical issues.  I don't have high blood pressure, heart issues, diabetes, GERD...in fact I have none of the usual obesity issues.  What I do have is significant osteoarthritis from years of training and riding horses, playing sports, etc.  Everything went downhill after an accident 20 years ago after which I could not compete....actually it was 2.5 years in PT.    Anyway I'd rather have the surgery and save my joints than go and have my joints replaced.  I've had plenty of broken bones and I'll pass on the joint replacement thing as long as possible.

So as far as my skin goes...its pretty ok, just not great if that makes any sense.
