Silly question- Did you take your own PJ's & robe to the hospital?
Howdy all!
I've been busy keeping myself busy or else I'd drive myself and everybody around me crazy.
I bought a gym bag to pack to take with me to the hospital. The great debate going on in my head is whether or not I should pack PJ's and a robe? I know the hospital will provide them, but I've always hated hospital gowns. There's nothing like walking down the hall with your ass flapping in the breeze.
But, I also know that with the hospital gowns they have the snaps that make it easier to maneuver the i.v. tubing.
Any thoughts?
I just wore what they gave me because of the easy access. You can put one on the right way ans one on backwards and no harm no foul. I'm glad I took blistex and ear plugs though. And my own pillow, this became important for the ride home. I wore home what I wore there so that was simple. Loose and elastic around the tummy.
And a toothbrush. I pretty much didn't care about anything else.

I could have changed into my own pjs on my second day but I didn't because it was too much of a hassle when I went to the bathroom to pull them down and up. My left side hurt really bad (since all the work is done on the left side) so bending....not an option so much at first.

Hi
when I was in the hospital i wore the provided gowns (one on from the back as well so the entire unit didnt have to see my fat ass). and yes they had snap on sleeves for IV tubing. Actually I am not sure you are able to wear your own PJs while there as ive never seen anyone besides post-partum wearing anything besides a hospital gown. A robe you can bring though, I brought one and didnt use it but still nice to have. plus the gowns make it easy for the surgeon, residents and nurses to examine you constantly, doesnt get in the way of your foley or JP etc. you can bring yours alone so you have them if you can/want to wear them. I also recommend chapstick which was a life saver! I packed a ton of stuff, laptop, books, magazines, PSP and never even took my bag out of the closet. Good luck- hoping for an uneventful surgery and speedy recovery.

Tia,
I am so flippin' excited that if they called me tomorrow, in 10 mintues I cold walk out the door. I've had most of my stuff packed and paperwork together for almost a month. LOL I guess that's what a 3 year journey does to ya!
I'm excited for you!
Oh and I think I'm still goin to take my PJ's. If there's a chance I can wear them, I will. I know I'd feel more comfortable in them.
