How/When do you take vitamins for best absorption?

I'm a little confused on this.  I take my vitamins 5 times per day.  Should I be taking them with some water right before I eat? or do I take them with sip of water after I eat?  What is your take on this?

I take my vitamins with water after I wait my 30-60 minutes after a meal (or whenever I start drinking again after a meal).  Vitamins are best absorbed with food (except iron) -- and when we drink water after a meal, the food is washed out of the pouch and the vitamins will quickly follow the food. If you take the vitamins before you start eating, then the vitamins are washed out of the pouch and the food stays in the pouch, so they aren't together anymore.

The only exception to this is iron which prefers an empty acidic stomach. So take iron with Vitamin C about an hour or so after or before a meal.
