Tropicana Trop 50
I've been wanting Orange juice for about a month now but because of the sugar I never had it. I came across Tropicana Trop 50 today and saw it has half the calories and sugar. Has anyone tried this yet and if so what do you think about it?

I sure hope you aren't drinking it post op - it high in calories, high in sugar and high in acid. I wasn't allowed anything to drink that had calories other than protein drinks until I reached goal and even at 2 years out now, I still follow that. I refuse to drink my calories. It also isnt' a good idea for your dad to drink it, you dont' know what his sugar is doing every minute of the day. IT could be going up after drinking it and by time he tests it, it already went down. Plain and simple, it has alot of sugar
I guess it is all relative to what you consider alot. I consider 50 calories alot for a drink that has no protein and 12 grams of sugar is alot - it would have made me dump. I was told no juice of any kind, just the sugar free powder packets that can be added to a water bottle for 5 calories or equivalent. IT also has a lot of acid and you are trying to keep all acid away from your pouch at the beginning to prevent acid reflux and ulcers.
Thank you all for this post. I was a Tropicana drinker for years and then when I realized the level of sugar in fruit juice drinks I stopped drinking it. I then found the Trop50 and I was able to drink it pre-RNY, because while it was light in taste and calories it still was phenomenal like I expect Tropicana to taste.
For the record they just came out with an apple drink as well and there is a pmegranate-blueberry I think. I move to soft foods at my 8 week post op which is tomorrow. I will slowly ease into this, I have been enjoying the sugar free orange drink made by Crystal Lite and Wal-Mart thus far but I need just a drop of real juice lol.

I know what you mean about craving OJ. Really, really cold OJ!! I have been drinking Tropicana Orange Light. It is sold in the soda isle in 2 ltr bottle. It is sugar and caffeine free and is not carbonated. It does contain some juice but very little as it has like 5 calories per serving. It tastes better than Crystal Light to me and it has been saving me getting in my fluids.
