hey guys... just checking in! i am 11 days post op open revision to rny.  still walked like a stooped over old lady. still exhausted. still running low grade temp.  becoming depressed & frustrated with recovery. try to get in some protein and every time i do it feels like lead in my gut for HOURS.  as long as i stick to iced tea or water i am fine.  taking vitamins.  just really want to feel good.   i had thought by 2 weeks out i would be fine... now i am thinking its going to take 3 weeks or more.  i just want to stand up STRAIGHT and it not hurt.  to get up and it not hurt. and... i am hungry.

How about using a clear protein drink?  Isopure makes a green tea and a black tea flavor, or Syntrax Nectar makes a lemon tea.

I hope things turn around for you soon. I know that once I could eat real food I felt better.

Please remember that you have just had major abdominal surgery and there is no magic "all better' day.   It takes time,.

The protien the other poster advised sounds like a good drink to try.

#1 Revision surgery can be hard but the fact that they had to do a open revision is even harder.  Give yourself a break.  Everybody recovers differently.  Make sure you are getting in your fluids.  Are you able to be on full liquids?? Coould you try a protien shake or a unflavored protien in something.

You could try mixing the Isopure with Crystal light or similar drinks and it might drown out the taste.

Rest and don't rush things.  Soon enough you will be running around with so much energy!!

so sorry you are having such a hard time. It took me almost 7 weeks to feel better.  I did not have an open revision.  Everyone heals differently. Also, the lack of food affects us all differently. Be kind to yourself you will feel better soon.
