Novasure ablation after RNY? anyone?
I'm so glad you posted this. My gyno has to remove some cervical polyps for me and today in my pre-surgery appt said that he could do the ablation too. I hadn't thought about this since I usually don't complain about my periods. After having irregular periods my whole life, they are now regular and that is just amazing to me. Now, I could just not have them at all, or have them be very light. Mine are now 7-8 days long and around 28-30 days. I don't think they are heavy, but he seems to think they are. I'm not sure if he just wants to do this procedure, or if I just am influenced by being happy to be "regular" for the first time in my life. I have to decide in the next couple of weeks since my other surgery is May 5th. I'd love to hear if anyone ever had a problem with their ablation.

I'm not sure what a Novasure ablation is..but I had a uteral ablation about 10 or more years ago. Same problems heavy bleeding , clotting, periods lasting 40 or more days, endometriosis really bad. Surgery was quick, I was sedated...went home that evening. Pain after surgery, they gave me a shot, never had any pain after that. I was back to work on Monday with light duties. Fine after a week. Periods became much more regular and light although I only got one maybe every 3 or 4 months. Now I have none..they just stopped. If you are having problems I would recommend you go ahead with it. It really helped me.

I'm interested in any replies as well. I'm considering visiting my gyn about this procedure, as I'm really starting to struggle with keeping my iron up. My periods have always been regular and now they are heavier. Last month's was several days (4 extra days) longer than normal, and I am now almost a week late this month. (Not pregnant, I had a tubal 12 years ago).
