I was 321 the day of surgery and it took me 20 months to get to 145 pounds.

I am very happy with my weight loss but I am slower than others.  I started at 301 and I am 7 months out today with 80 pounds lost.  Honestly, I could be exercising to have already hit 100, but other than a glass of wine every once awhile there are no sweets or no no's in my diet.  I haven't lost much these last two months, maybe 8 pounds but I dropped a size in clothes.  Size 24 post op and now I am a comfortable size 16.

I was 350 when I began to look into surgery, 293 on the day of surgery

Hit goal at 29 months

I hit 185 at 12 months (about 31 over goal) and flatlined and thought "this is it' so I considered myself DONE and felt like I was in maintenance mode. I was okay, by all accounts the surgery was a roaring success

Then I started losing again at 18 months (remember, I wasn't TRYING to lose more weight) ..... lost down another twenty pounds, flatlined again because I was convinced that NOW I was at maintenance mode.... then at 29 months I dropped down to goal suddenly and have been slowly losing ever since (stable now about 4 lbs below goal, and about 4 lbs above minimum)

From what I am reading then my body will hit goal when it's ready and not when I am ready.  I know I should quit worrying so much about the when as long as it happens.  My weight loss was so fast at first and has now slowed to about 5 pounds a week it seems.  I am still losing it much faster than I ever could've without the surgery, so I am very thankful for that.  Thank you ladies, for your stories as you all look great and I will be a total success if I can look half as good as any of you do!  I already feel so much better and that's worth its weight in gold :)

I did.  My goal is to be about where you are now.  Thank you :)  I do track my calories daily and always eat 800-900 daily.  My NUT was concerned at my last appt. saying I was losing fast and that my caloric intake should be at least 800, so I try and hit that minimum without going over 900.  Somedays I still am only able to do 600 or so, but most of the time I make it to 800 now.

Yeah, but I'm a guy.  One thing I have seen over the years is that men and younger women lose the weight the quickest.  Men have a larger muscle structure.  Also take the same woman at 30 vs 50...She can move better at a younger age, so in most cases the weight comes off quicker.

Funny you mention that because I have had several people write me and ask me how I've lost so fast.  I am not 100% sure of the reason, but I believe part of it may be my age and part of it the fact that even though I was big I have always been very muscular (played a lot of sports in school).
