Does anyone eat beef jerky? I know that it has a lot of protein. My son eats it ALL the time. Maybe too much sodium??? I'm not even close to being able to try it just yet. I've just been meal planning for farther out. Making a list of a bunch of high protein meals and snacks. What do you all think?

I eat some beef jerky but more turkey jerky which I like better and is leaner. I don't have it for a meal but I eat it as a snack a couple of times a week. I only partially watch my sodium. I try to keep it under control, but don't obsess about it. Especially in the early pre-op months, any time you can get protein in is a good thing.

I'm on the go a lot so I eat quite a bit of beef and turkey jerky. I'm just very careful to look at the sugar content in it. It's got a lot of protein in it and, as long as I chew really well, it goes down easily for me.

I eat beef jerky as a snack now and again.  I don'****ch my sodium too much (because I hardly salt anything anyway) but I do make sure to drink extra water the days I have jerky.  Watch for the ones that are high in sugar but otherwise, go for it when you can.

It is my favorite movie snack. One package gets me through a movie while everyone else is chomping down that popcorn.

I will eat beef jerky occasionally but I really like the turkey jerky from Walmart better.  There is a brand called Old Wisconson that is low in sodium.  I have about six pieces with six cheese cubes for more protein!  It's one of my favorites!

I'm a fan.  I work it into my food rotation a couple of times a week.  One thing I miss since my surgery is food texture and find that the long chew time and savoriness helps combate that.

I also find that its a great easy somthing to keep in the car for those times when my schedule gets messed up.  Water and Jerky just in case.  I just have to hide from my hubbs as he LOVES the stuff and he'll eat my whole stash if I'm not looking.

I love jerky!! I started with the beef and avoided the turkey because I don't really like turkey. Then I tried the turkey jerky and never went back to the beef!! It is softer, easier to chew and tastes awesome. The teriyaki flavor tends to be high in sugar, but I like the original better anyway.

Love Beef Jerky! I always keep some in my purse as a snack in case I'm out and about and get hungry. I really don't pay attention to the sodium as much as I do calories, fat, sugar, and protein. I've never tried the turkey jerkey, so thanks to all of you for the idea!
