I am 1 year and 8 months post op roux-en-y.  I reached my goal 9 months ago and have pretty much maintained my current for the last 9 months.  I am constantly worried about gaining weight again. Ecspecially because for the time being, It seems snacking is not effecting my weight.  Every once and while, I try track my calories and protien again.  However, this far post op, I'm not really sure what my target numbers should be.  Any thoughts? Also, has anyone been this far out and then really started gaining significant weight?

I went back and saw a nutritionist once I started to be close to maintenance.  Each person is different based on your physical activity, body fat content, etc.  They can give you a range.  Mine is 1200-1500 calories per day.

Good Luck

I am not in maintenance yet but here is my suggestion: eat maintenance calories (BMR & Activity Level) (Go to Health Tracker, Settings to get an estimate under My OH).

For me 1100-1200 per day.  I eat nutrient dense - calorie poor, so it is pretty easy to do.

You are right at the point where the malabsorption starts to lessen so it's tricky to get an exact calorie count. You may be able to take in more today then next month. This is part of the reason for the bounceback. All you can do is track your calories and your weight to see what works for you and if you see yourself starting to regain a little cut back on calories a little.

Thank you all.  All very good advice. I think I will keep track on here and adjust as needed.  I'll keep the nutritionist idea in the ack of my head too.  I guess my fear is pretty normal.
