What do you do about the comments about how small you are getting? I am getting questions from my family, honest concerns, nothing meant rude, asking me if Im done losing and that I shouldnt lose anymore. I tend to agree that I shouldnt lose anymore, but Its not like I can control it. I am almost 7 months out and still losing about 3 lbs a week or so, skipping a week here or there. I know we are suppossed to level off, but is there a trick to it or is it just a waiting game?

Actually, my doc says I can slow it down by my diet. Upping carbs and stuff...

I think sometimes people make those comments because you are SO skinny compared to the fat version of you.... not necessarily because you are TOO skinny.  Just as it takes YOUR brain a while to catch up, it also takes other people's brains a while to catch up.  Also,  I think peopel sometimes make the comments based on a combination of how yuor face AND body look, and many people get a very gaunt look to them that can last a number of months. Everyone I know has eventually lost it, but while you are in that phase, it CAN make you look extra thin and/or old and/or tired!

As long as your surgoen or PCP aren't the ones telling you to quit losing, i would not worry about it.

Wow, I was looking at your pics from Sept 2010 till now, man!!! What a change, you look great!!! They just have to get use to seeing you smaller it will pass it takes time.  Just like when you get a new hair cut or dye your hair, people will look at you like huh?  But then after awhile it tapers off.

You look wonderful and you can enjoy you son to the fullest!!!  That all that matters.

IMO don't start adding white carbs to stop the loss.  You may want to add a healthy snack or two in addition to your current eating plan (if you can).

I went through the comment stage also, people are use to seeing you at a larger size.  The weight usually levels off when you reach a normal weight for your body type.

I'm almost 9 months out and my Dietitian said she'd like me to stop losing now. She suggested I add in another "meal or snack" weather it be a protein shake, or apple with peanut butter. But if I up my calories about another 100 a day I should level off.

I've never been a calorie counter, so I don't know how many I eat in a day. But now I've added in another snack throughout the day... Sometimes 2 if I work out that day.

But you'll stop, eventually. And when you do that's when the real hard work comes into play cause now we can eat basically anything without worry. But soon we'll have to watch it just like everyone else.

So just tell people You'll stop losing when your body is good and ready to. LOL

Great job on your loss BTW. You do look fabulous!

I say "Thanks for your concern.  I'm working closely with my doctor so I don't lose too much but do lose enough."
